They were being transported often, this particular time however, it felt more permanent.
Aspen had heard talk from guards and doctors of a city, which was confusing in itself. There weren't any cities left, right?
Either way, city or not, they were on the move once more. Trapped down and chained up in train cars, the Immunes (and not, in Aspen's case) we're on the prowl again.
He missed Newt, more than anything else. Escaping wasn't really something he cared about, he knew he was going to die anyways. But he wanted to see Newt, one more time.
Footsteps sounded above their heads, and Aspen could see movement atop the train cars in the small window. His heart practically skipped a beat.
We're they coming for him and Minho? How would they even do it?
Aspen was shoved forward as the train car stopped abruptly. He glanced all around him, where was Minho?
Banging could be heard from the sides of the car, "Minho! Minho can you hear me? Aspen!"
Aspen rattled the chains above him, as did the others in the cart. He yelled, calling out, hoping that Newt was there.
It had been months, he'd be happy if Newt was even still alive.
Ignoring the sharp pains recurrrring through his arm, he kept his ears sharp as he heard the muffled voices of those outside of the cart. He could almost make out the tone, and what they were saying, but gunshots sort of obscured that.
The cart waved through the air as they were lifted above ground, Aspen sucked in a breath. The gunshots faded, leaving an eerie yet blissful silence in its absence, aside from the cheering of their escapees.
The door opened with a shove. Thomas and Newt stepping into the cart and walking up to Aris. Aspen titled his head up as his eyes landed on Newt's glassy ones.
The boy shoved past Thomas, making his way to Aspen as he held the boys face, staring deeply into his eyes.
His lips smashed onto Aspen's, entangling in a passionate and rough kiss. Not full of lust, however. Rather it was full of unfulfilled fantasy, hope.
"I love you." Newts eyes widened. He trembled as their foreheads remained close, Aspen eyes still closed, deathly afraid to see the boys reaction.
"I love you too." The British boy laughed through his words, kissing Aspen deeply once more.
A sharp pain shot through Aspen's gut. They had saved him, but what about Minho?
"Minho's not here." Aspen abruptly spoke, tearing away from the kiss. Newt looked up, glancing at Thomas who'd come to the same realization.
Newt looked down, sorrow filling his eyes. "I'm just glad I have you."
Aspen smiled sadly, before Harriet tossed Newt the bolt cutters and the boy was freed.
Aspen avoided the other escapees, instead staying by Newt while he showed him where they'd sook shelter. It was an interesting place, the boat being the most interesting of it all. Aspen hoped whatever they were planning would work, that they could be safe.
Newt held Aspen's hand firmly as he guided the boy towards where he'd been sleeping, before his gaze landed upon his wrists. Newt grasped the boys wrist with a ferocity Aspen had never seen before.
He eyed the thick, dark scars surrounding the boys wrists. But what came next wasnt venomous, it wasn't full of anger and rage, it was a subtle, sweet notion. He ran his fingers across the scars, before kissing them softly. He said nothing, but his actions were words enough.
After a few seconds of blissful silence, Aspen eyed the room in front of him. It was small, engulfed in concrete with little sunlight peeking through.
"Nice apartment."
Newt laughed as he guided Aspen over to his make-shift bed. Aspen lied down, savouring it's warmth before Newt climbed on top of him. Aspen's stomach whirled with butterflies as Newt's lips inches towards his neck. He sucked in a moaning breath as Newt sucked on the tender skin.
Suddenly the boy bit down, Aspen failing to conceal his moan as he grounded up into the boys leg. Newt chuckled at the boys eagerness. "Missed me, huh, love?"
"Shut up."
Aspen crashed his lips against Newt, who slowly detached from the kiss as he anchored his gaze downwards, his lips following suit.
He travelled down Aspen's body until he reached the place most wanted, Aspen clasped a hand over his mouth to conceal his moans as Newt went down on him.
"Holy fuck," the boy's breathing sped up, as his legs became restless. His toes curled as Newt kept going, practically teasing him with slow pace.
Suddenly he sped up, Aspen having the place both hands over his mouth to conceal his cries of pleasure. "Oh, god, Newt."
It was a lustful experience, yet still full of passion and love. Newt laid across from Aspen, who was softly drifting to sleep after their little fun. He brushed his fingers through the boys hair softly, his eyes hazing over the marks he'd left on his neck. He admired his work, but mostly, he was admiring his boy.
All his.
"Your pretty when you sleep." Newt whispered softly.
Aspen turned over and Newt's smile fell from his lips. "I'm awake, dumbass." Aspen looked down as a smile tugged it's way onto his face. "Thank you."
Newt titled his head seductively, "For what? Fucking you?"
"No, dumbass. For saving me."
Newt leaned forward, giving the boy a soft kiss, holding his hand on the boys head, entangled in his dark hair.
They joined the others, chilling by a fire and catching up with Aris and the others. They sat close to eachother, the fire warming Aspen's hand as the other entwined with Newt's.
"Where were you guys?" Thomas glanced up at the two, before his gaze landed on Aspen's neck. "That explains it."
Aspen laughed as his face burned, Newt squeezed the boys hand.
Aspen walked through pathways, heading towards where Newt and Thomas said they were going. He leaned against the doorway, eyeing the group.
"If that city is still standing, that's the last place you wanna go, hermano. That's the lion's den."
"It's nothing we haven't done before."
Vince was obviously opposed, fairly so. Aspen couldn't really blame him, but they had to save Minho, with Vince's help or not.
Suddenly the radio sputters, and an aircraft could be heard from above. "Shit, hit the lights!"
"Let's go, let's go!"
Newt rushed out the door, grasping Aspen's wrist as they ran out the door, eyes wandering above, as a berg hovered in the distance.
"They're getting close."
Thomas sighed, "You're right, we can't stay here."
