Hizashi didn't see the family for another two weeks until the Friday right after school. The bus heading to the orphanage was sitting where it usually was but in front of that was Mayumi and Fumiko's car. Fumiko grinned seeing Hizashi coming over confused. Her and her wife got out of the car.

Hizashi walked up to them with a confused look. 'What's this..?'

Nanny Ito walked over from the bus with a smile on her face.

Mayumi walked from the drivers side over with a small smile. "We have a surprise kiddo."

   Hizashi cocked his head confused.

Fumiko pulled something from behind her back and handed it over.

Hizashi took the stack of papers and made a very confused sound. He looked at the first paper still trying to get what was happening. This was just information about him... The gears in his head stopped when he read the top. He quickly glanced to the next page and saw two signatures matching Mayumi and Fumiko. There was only one space left next to "child's name."

Hizashi looked up quickly. 'Are you serious?'

Fumiko let out a soft laugh and kneeled down next to Hizashi. 'If you want to.' She cleared her throat. "We want you." Her words were hoarse and awkward in the way a trained speaker was.

Hizashi felt tears escape his eyes as he threw his arms around Fumiko's neck. He buried his face in her neck and sniffled. A moment passed and he pulled away.

Both women had smiled and teary expectant eyes.

Hizashi looked down at the papers again and then up at them. 'I...' He had to pause because his hands were shaking. 'I'll need a pen.'

Nanny Ito pulled the pen from behind her hair and handed it over. Even she had teary eyes. "Your things are already with them. We figured you wouldn't say no."

'Thank you.' Hizashi signed, still a little shaky. He took the pen and leaned against the car to scribble his name into the paper.

Fumiko immediately snatched Hizashi up and pressed kisses across his face.

Mayumi let out a snort and giggled as she took the papers so they didn't fall.

Hizashi let out a soft scree followed by furious giggles.

"WooHoo!!! Hizashi!!!" Hibiki and Yua were there suddenly.

Hizashi squirmed out of Fumiko's hold and turned to his friends. He gave a bright smile.

Hibiki grinned and held his fist out for a bump. There was sadness in his eyes but he was so very excited to see one of his best friends so happy.

Hizashi smiled and pressed their fists together. 'Stay out of trouble without me.'

Yua wrapped Hizashi in a quick hug. "Next time we see you we'll both be able to beat you at chess with our eyes closed."

   Hizashi laughed. 'You can try.'

Both Hibiki and Yua rolled their eyes before they grinned. "Just wait!" Hibiki shouted. "You'll see Zashi!"

Hizashi smiled and waved as Nanny Ito led his friends away. After the bus pulled away he turned to Fumiko and Mayumi. 'Now what?'

"Ready to head home? We can pick up take out if you want. We have cake at home."

Hizashi felt warm again. He had never been able to chose what he wanted from a restaurant. The few times the orphanage ordered food it was always generic so the majority would eat it. 'That sounds nice.'

Fumiko smiled brightly again. 'Go ahead and get in the car sunshine. Let's go.'

Hizashi got in the car with a perpetual smile on his face. Nothing could go wrong.
