❝ when the sky falls ❞
EVERYBODY SAYS THAT your life flashes before your eyes when you die. According to science, it makes sense. All of your memories are stored within your cognitive system, which will inevitably be stimulated in a high-stress situation, such as one of near death.
The first time Aster heard that piece of information, she was elated. Being an agent, high stress was a part of her job description. She was accustomed to dangerous missions, some of them even going as far as putting her life on the line.
But regardless of how many times her adrenaline was running high, that spark of remembrance still failed to ignite.
It bothered her. Kept her up at night. Knowing that there were so many memories stored in her brain that she was unable to access. How could something be so close yet so unattainable?
