Chapter 9

                                    

                                          
Once we got to the house I went to the window I used to go in yesterday. Both Jacks followed me and look around in amazement.
                          
"Never did I think I would be in this house"
                          
Johnson says while looking like he was a kid in a candy store. I look at them amused then I thought of something.
                          
"Are you two Chameleons too?"
                          
"Yea, but we are basically the only ones"
                          
"What Gilinsky means, is besides You, Perry, James, Red, Gilinsky and I are the last remaining Chameleons"
                          
I give them a nod and when Johnson walked passed the book case that opens, there was no beep and it didn't open. I frown my eye brows and look at them.
                          
"Gilinsky walk past that book case."
                          
He gives me a weird look, but does as I said. Nope nothing it didn't beep. I walk past it and there it was. The beep and it opened. I look at both Jacks and see them looking wide eyed at the study.
                          
"How did you know about that?"
                          
"It happened yesterday when I was here."
                          
"I'm guessing it only opens to you or your... never mind"
                          
Gilinsky stops himself before he could finish. I give him a small smile saying it was fine and walk into the study with them following.
                          
"All these years, Red has been trying to find you and this study. Here it was the whole time"
                          
Johnson says this while laughing a bit. I make them go check out the rest of the house while I look around the study. I sit on the chair at the desk and see a picture frame on the side. I pick it up and see that it's of me and .... my mom. Looking at her I can see the resembles between the two of us. I look around and see that he had a picture of them both. I get up and walk over to it. I don't know how long I was looking at the picture when Johnson comes in.
                          
"Skylar as much as we would like to stay here for a bit long we can't. Red is coming."
                          
After he says that I take the picture out of the frame and put it in my pocket. On our way out I grab the house key from the way. We make our way back to school as fast as we can with our guard up.
                          
"Now, now Johnson and Gilinsky. Don't you two know that it's wrong to steal other peoples property"
                          
Red says while he appears a few feet in front of us. This time he isn't alone he has two of his own men with him. Both Jacks stand in front of me to block him from me. 
                          
"Skylar get out of here okay. Tell James once you get to school grounds"
                          
Gilinsky says this while not turning to look at me. They both shift into wolves and lunge at them. Just as Jack said I start running in the direction of school. Once I see the school I stop and can hear the faint sounds of the fight. I sigh and turn back around. I rush back to where they were and see that they already got one guy down and see that they are trying to get the other one. Red is sneaking up behind them ready to attack when I feel fangs growing in my mouth and my eyes turning red. I rush forward and throw Red backwards. He hits a tree and get up quickly once he hit the ground. He looks up and smirks when he sees me.
                          
"Should have listened to the boy Skylar. You just make it to easy."
                          
As he walks slowly towards me I walk over to where both Jacks are waiting in their human form for my cue for help. That's when I think of something that might not work. Once I'm in the middle of both of them I grab on to their hands and close my eyes just as Red is lunging at us. After a few seconds and feel nothing I open my eyes and see that we are exactly where I hoped we would be. We are on the edge of school grounds. I let go of their arms and sigh in relief. I turn to look at them to see them looking wide eyed and smiling.
                          
"So it's true. You are destined for greatness, Chameleons don't learn how to teleport until they're at least 23. You just did it with no problem"
                          
"Yea I seem to do a lot of things that most Chameleons can't do until they're older."
                          
Before either of them can say anything we hear Perry.
                          
"There you are, you don't just disappear when ever you want. You scared us all when we went into your room and it was empty. Never do th-.... Johnson! Gilinsky!"
                          
Perry stops scolding me and pulls both Jacks into a man hug. While Matt, Riley, Ella, Hayes, Nash, Cameron and Allison stand while looking confused.
                          
"Go easy on her Perry . Her emotions were all over the place when we followed her to the woods. She just need time away from everything."
                          
Gilinsky says while sending me a quick smile. I smile back in thanks.
                          
"Okay, I'll ask who the hell are you?"
                          
Nash asks what everyone else is thinking.
                          
"Were Jack J and Jack G Skylar's other protectors"
                          
Johnson says not knowing that Cameron, Hayes, Nash, and Allison have no idea about all of this.
                          
"Why does Skylar need protectors?"
                          
Hayes asks confused while all four Werewolves look at me confused.
                          
"Oh they don't know?"
                          
Johnson asks while look at us apologetically. I shake my head no. He forms an 'O' shape with his mouth.
                          
"We don't know what?" 
                          
Cameron asks while looking at me with an unreadable look.
                          
"Nothing. It has nothing that concerns the four of you so bye"
                          
With that I motion for the others to follow me and we go to my cabin. My heart rate picked up when I look over to the woods and see Reds glowing red eyes looking at me. I shake it off and go inside with the others. Once I'm inside I hope that Red won't target the others.
