Reminder that this is part two to the previous one-shot, but can be read as a stand alone.
Also, in my hc, respawning works as turning to dust and waking up back in your bed. Important info for later.~~~~~~~~~
"I made this in case of an emergency,"
Eret led them through the cramped tunnel, holding his shoulder where an artificial cut bled through his shirt sleeve.
When he first told them, their eyes lit up with such glee, hopeful smiles appearing on their dirt stained faces. It was a familiar sight.
One he had seen many times before, one he used to privately wish was aimed at him. They looked at him like he was Wilbur.
A fearless leader carrying them to victory; always having a hidden ploy up his sleeve to save the day, always knowing the right things to say.He hated it.
When they saw how small the tunnel was, they're smiles turned a bit apprehensive, especially Tommy. The kid had never liked tight spaces.
Though his face was set with determination, a flicker of fear crossed his features when he stood in the entrance. Tubbo subtly touched his shoulder to remind him that he would be right behind him.
The sight made Eret's insides squirm.
Even though Wilbur had to duck just to be able to fit through the tunnel, he still didn't show a glimmer of nervousness. Even going first, after Eret.
And when they finally arrived in the room, they all ran up to their designated chests, excitement hanging thick in the musty air.
He pretended not to notice Tommy's quiet breath of relief, before the boy shouted his admiration at Eret's foresight. This is it. This is his moment.
The chests were openend, gleeful whispers cut off into quiet confusion. They all looked at each other, none sure what to do. Wilbur turned around, his eyebrows furrowed, "They're empty?" He asked to no one in particular.A sick glimmer of satisfaction struck through his veins as his hand hovered over the button.
"I'm sorry boys." click. "Down with the revolution. It was never meant to be." and chaos filled the room.
Screams bounced along the walls, desperate scrambling to escape Dream's terror. Eret watched it all from a corner, pressed up against the wall to avoid the swinging swords.
Tommy slammed his pickaxe down on the blockade, while the others managed to fend the Dream Team off for a moment. The sharp end of his pick broke through the stone covering their escape.
He shouted out for the others to run as his golden head of hair disappeared into the hallway, Dream slithering in after him before anyone else could move. A loud thud sounded, as if he had been thrown down the stairs.
Meanwhile, Tubbo desperately tried defending himself, swinging his sword in a frenzied array while backing away from George.
His head shot to the side when he saw Dream follow Tommy, and he screamed out a warning.
His words were cut short.
Fundy cowered in a corner, his paws clasped together like he was praying. His mouth stretched wide with terror, and his eyes rolled. For just a second, he made eye contact with Eret; an unspoken plea for help aimed at him, before Sapnap's sword slammed down onto him and broke their silent communication.
