How to use Mistletoe with someone stubborn
A guide by Hwang Hyunjin


1. Call them from a different room.
"Seungmin, can you come here?"
"Sorry, I'm busy right now!"
"You have to come check this out—"
"I'm in my blanket fort and I am starting my Christmas movie marathon! I'm gonna watch until I pass out!"


2. Lure them in with a promise of some sweet treats
"Seungmin, I bought cookies! Come here before I eat them all up!"
"It's okay. I gotta stay healthy. The grind never stops!"
"But don't you want—"
"And I know you love them, so just enjoy them yourself!"


3. Fake an emergency
"Seungmin! Come quickly, it's an emergency!"
"I'm not falling for that again! Last time I ran over to help you, you doused me with a bucket of water!"
"No, really come here right now!"
"Nothing you say can change my mind! I'm not that gullible anymore!"


4. Drag them with you and point up at the mistletoe
"Come on, follow me."
"Wait, what's going on—"
"You know where we're standing, right?"
"Uh, under the—"
"And you know what this is, right?"
"Oh! Yeah, that's—"
"So you know what we're supposed to do, right?!"
"That's a holly!"
"... What?"
"Yeah, it's a common misconception. Mistletoe is a plant with rounded leaves and white berries, not red ones."
Hyunjin is speechless.
"I can see why you'd be confused, but I know a lot about Christmas! Did you know that— wait, where are you going?"


Hyunjin is lying down on his bed, feeling sad and despondent.
Seungmin knocks on the door.
"Come in," Hyunjin mumbles.
Seungmin shuffles in, head bowed, as he stands next to Hyunjin's bed.
"I-I'm an idiot. I didn't mean to upset you... I knew what you were trying to do. I was just teasing you."
Seungmin's face flushes red. He pulls out a real sprig of mistletoe and holds it above their heads. "So... Kiss me?"
Hyunjin stares at him before smiling, grabbing him by the collar, and pulling him down. "You're a silly one, aren't you?"
 Seungmin chuckles and drops the mistletoe on the floor, where it lay forgotten for the rest of the night.
