Ten hours train ride? Ten fucking hours?!
Kahit hindi ako makapaniwala na gano'n katagal ang oras na tatakbuhin ng train just to get to our destination. Sana pala nag-via plane na lang kami and we're just gonna save a lot of time pa kung gano'n. Hinayaan ko kasing mag-plano si Cholo kaya ngayon, wala akong magawa kung hindi ang sumunod na lang sa agos ng mga pangyayari.
"Hey..." sinusuyo niya ako. Kanina pa kalabit nang kalabit sa akin. "Hindi mo na ako pinapansin. May nagawa na naman ba ako?"
"As if you didn't know," matabang kong sagot sa kanya.
Sinilip ko ang mukha niya ng mabilisan at nanliit ang mata nito at iniisip kung ano ba 'tong tinutukoy niya. His face was full of confusion. To look at it was so hilarious. Pinigilan ko lang hindi matawa.
"Okay, ano nga ba talaga 'yon?"
"Ten hours," I uttered. "Ang tagal no'n."
He took a deep breath. "I know, I know, but you have to know na kaya ko pinili ang travel natin thru train ay may reason ako."
"Alam ko. You and your weird adventures."
"You got it!" masigasig nitong sagot sa akin. "But other than that, I think it's better to travel thru train dahil may mga area tayong madaraanan na magugustuhan mo talaga. Hindi mo na maiisip 'yong oras o kung ano pa man. This will be worth it. Sinasabi ko na ngayon pa lang—"
"You should've told me way before we got here."
Napakamot siya sa kanyang ulo. "But you agreed to this when I will take care our travel here, 'di ba?"
Napabuntonghininga ako. "And that's a big mistake I did."
Tinapik-tapik ni Cholo ang balikat ko. "No, it's not a mistake. Believe me, this is the best thing that would happen on this trip. Sa ngayon, hindi mo pa siya ma-appreciate, but you will. Tanda mo ba 'yon no'n? Para gano'n lang 'yon. At first, we couldn't see the purpose of what we're doing, but then eventually mare-realize na lang natin—"
"Na may reason why we're doing it," pagpapatuloy ko.
"That's not exactly what I would say, but you got the point. Good job, Zo."
I don't get it. For real, but whatever he meant to it, lagi naman iyong may kabuluhan. But I know, giving him our travel idea wasn't a mistake. I know he already had our destination pictured in his mind so whatever the struggle we're going through right now—well, possibly certain things he wasn't aware of.
But if he just told me that we'll be going through a ten hour train ride, I wouldn't be so pissed. Kating-kati na akong makarating sa destinasyon namin saka pa mapapatagal dahil sa biyahe. There are easiest way to get there. Hindi ko lang talaga alam kung anong pumasok sa isipan ni Cholo.
Hindi ko alam kung paano bubunuan ang sampung oras na 'yon. I could just sleep it off, but what about the other few hours left? I only grabbed one book for this travel. I haven't been able to spend my time reading because of my busy schedule for the past few months so maybe this is my time to catch up.
