Chapter 30
Althea's POV
"Wake up. Wake up. Wake up." Arlo repeated, his warm lips pressed into my skin. I blinked a few times before stirring in his arms. He pulled away, his blue eyes assessing me before pulling me closer.
"You scared me." He whispered, squeezing me unbearably tight. I hugged him back, glad that he was back as well. I had a bone to pick with his wolf however.
I turned to see Ivy giving Samuel water as he leaned against the nearest tree. His soul and his body were beaten badly. His physical wounds would take a couple hours to heal. But the ones my father left on his soul would last a while.
"What's the next move Alpha?" Arlo asked, lifting me to my feet. He gave a respectful nod, acknowledging me as his Alpha. I turned to see Jake smiling with his arms crossed over his chest.
"You're not my Alpha. I'm not doing it." He deadpanned playfully. I couldn't help but chuckle. I was grateful for this moment, for these people.
"My dad asked a favor. I intend to see it through." I told them. Arlo grabbed my hand, keeping me close. Although he knew my strength, he'd always prefer I be close, and I was okay with that.
"Ivy can you take Sam to Arlo's until he fully heals?" I asked her politely. She nodded and knelt down taking his hand in hers before transporting into that fluttering glitter. I turned to Jake.
"If anyone asks, Samuel was with you today. Doing whatever it is you do for fun." I told him. He reluctantly nodded. Then I turned to Arlo.
"I just need you to be okay with everything." I spoke softly. His brows furrowed.
"I'm going to talk with my mom. Then I'm leaving town to deal with my grandfather. Alone." I took a step forward as he narrowed his gaze.
"There is no need to go alone Thea." He interrupted me. I nodded.
"He's my grandfather, I am Alpha, it is my problem. I can't risk your wolfs anger. I'm sorry." I admitted. Jake scuffed a chuckle.
"Never thought I'd see the day Thea has more control over her animal than you." He spoke up. I tossed him a warning glare. He threw Arlo a taunting smirk before turning to leave.
"What are you doing?" Arlo whispered down at me, taking my face into his large hands. Warmth, safe warmth. Just like dad. I stepped forward, standing on my toes to pull his face down to mine.
"I'm ending this cycle of hate and revenge. Our goddess isn't proud of it. I will start my reign with a clean slate. No skeletons." I told him before pushing my lips up to his. This time it was him that melted into my grasp, closing the distance between our bodies.
A fire heated my belly, as if reminding me of my mark, of the need to be with him again. He forced his tongue passed my lips, walking me backward into a tree. He felt it too.
'Finish the bond.' My wolf whispered. Her words confused me. We did finish, we did more than finish. He's been deep inside me more than once.
Arlo felt a hand up my thigh, lifting my hoodie. I moaned into his warm mouth. My hands feeling over his chest, through the rips and tears in his shirt.
"Let me deal with Marion at least." He breathed into my mouth. I nodded as he grabbed for my thighs, hoisting me up against the bark.
"Discretely." I moaned back, feeling the weight of his body press into my core. He nodded in understanding, deepening his affection. I wanted him to take me out here in the woods. Something in me burned to have him here, stirring my insides.
