Both Yang Yang and Gong Jun froze; they wore the same peculiar expression; it was as if their faces could not decide between cramping up, or turning red, or turning pale.
They had nothing to say to that, but they had that same unanimous urge to drag Deng Lun out and drown him in the ocean.
Thankfully Dilraba stepped in to shut him up. "Of course they did. Didn't you all date me? You were the one who said that this table was full of my exes."
Deng Lun chortled heartily. "Oh that's right, I did say that." He downed the rest of his wine as Dilraba frowned in disapproval. "Stop drinking so much or you'll get water retention tomorrow and look like a potato."
"It's all right Reba, we're on vacation! A bit of wine won't hurt!"
Gong Jun sighed and stood up. "I have to eat my dinner and rest early. Please enjoy the rest of your evening and I'll see you all tomorrow." He smiled and waved to group, before heading over to join his team.
Dilraba watched him walk off. "Something is wrong with him."
Yang Yang looked at his broad shoulders towering over the crowd. "He seems cute and cheerful."
DIlraba narrowed her eyes and said thoughtfully. "He seemed happier when we wrapped up filming a few days ago. Something happened in the meantime."
Deng Lun leaned over nosily. "In our line, only a few things can make an idol upset. Do you remember when we were not yet famous? We would get despondent for days over a failed audition. Now, it is the other way round; scripts and projects are lined up at our door begging for a chance."
"So what are you saying?" Yang Yang asked. "He got rejected for a script?"
"He definitely got rejected for something." Deng Lun agreed.
"I don't think it is a script." Dilraba chewed on her lip. "He is scheduled to start filming his new drama next month. Why would he go and audition for a new drama now?"
"Heh heh then we all know what it is." Deng Lun chuckled knowingly. He sighed. "I can't imagine what type of person would reject someone like him."
Next to him, Dilraba and Yang Yang frowned in confusion. Wasn't Gong Jun's relationship going swimmingly well?
Especially Dilraba. She was dismayed; she was personally invested in this relationship since she sort of made it happen. She had been happy for Gong Jun when he told her that he would film his new drama in Shanghai so he could be close to his lover.
And when they wrapped <Legend of An Le>, he hot-footed it back to Shanghai immediately.
Now, a few days later, he looked like something was weighing on his mind. He tried to put up a lively front but he was not going to fool her.
As the alpha wolf, she needed to know what was troubling her pack member.
Dilraba decisively rose and walked over to Gong Jun. Following her lead, Yang Yang hurriedly gathered up his things and headed back to his room.
"Hey, are you all going to leave me here alone?" Deng Lun called after them.
Yang Yang pointed vaguely to the restaurant. "Go look for Jackson or something. I'm going back to my room."
He hadn't forgotten his promise to Zhang Zhehan; that he would keep his distance from Deng Lun. Even though they were okay friends who got along well and there was absolutely nothing between them, he was keenly aware of Zhang Zhehan's feelings about it. As a considerate boyfriend, he did not want to make Zhang Zhehan feel bad about anything, especially now. This was a sacrifice he could afford to make.
Gong Jun had just put a piece of food and on his plate and was about to eat it when Dilraba sat herself down next to him. There was a purposeful air about her, and his studio staff immediately took the hint. They picked up their plates and parked themselves at the next table.
"What's wrong with you?" Dilraba asked.
"I'm just starving, Reba-jie. I went to the gym the moment I arrived." Gong Jun answered half-truthfully.
She regarded him in silence for a few moments, watching him shovel food down his throat.
"What happened in Shanghai?"
Gong Jun paused, his jaw tightening. He stared morosely at the water glass in front of him for a few seconds before answering. "He said he was going to Hengdian next month."
Dilraba sighed. She understood perfectly. She knew that Gong Jun's boyfriend had to work, but still her disappointment was as real as Gong Jun's. She closed her eyes, a silent rage simmering within her. She didn't care how big Gong Jun's top was, but she really wanted to hit him now.
"So how did you react?"
"I reacted how any normal person would. I stormed out of his apartment, and I haven't replied to his calls or messages."
"Good good. You have backbone." Dilraba patted his shoulder approvingly. "You're not just a little cocksucker. I have trained you well."
Gong Jun continued to stuff his mouth with food in silence, not even bothering to respond to her crudeness.
"So what's next?" she asked. "Are you going to be angry forever?"
Gong Jun put down his fork and fumed. "Don't I have a right to be angry? He knew I accepted this drama mainly because it was to be filmed in Shanghai. I accepted it because of us! Yet he still accepted a job in Hengdian?"
Dilraba raised an eyebrow. "But the man still has to work, doesn't he? What is he going to eat if he doesn't? Your cum?"
"Reba-jie!!!" Gong Jun finally reacted. "I'm having my dinner here!"
"That's just an example." She soothed him. "But are you going to take care of him if he doesn't work?"
