The snow beneath her boots shifted and squished with each step she took. It was eerily silent in the village. Buildings were ruined, doors and windows were boarded up just like an abandon ghost town. It was way to quiet. Her heart was pounding and her palms were sweaty. All she had to do was get to the other side of the village and get back to house Beneviento. Back to Donna. That's all she had to do. The lycans shouldn't be too much of a problem. They were like mindless beings serving under the Lords and due to her serving one of the Lords directly they shouldn't bother her too much. Hopefully.

Turning around a corner and passing a ruined house, she found the street blocked by pieces of wood and metal from said ruined house. Groaning, she turned around and tried to find a way around it. With each breath she blew out, a cloud would form in front of her but disappeared as soon as it had appeared, replaced with a new cloud. Despite the fact she couldn't feel the cold, she adjusted her scarf to cover her neck more.

Every step she took, she saw something darting around out of the corner of her eye. Sometimes, she'd see something being dragged away but when she got closer to see where the body went, nothing would be there. She knew there were lycans in the village but she had yet to see one. If she was lucky, she wouldn't ever see them again. She saw them when she was recovering from Mother Miranda experiments and during Winters' trial.

Turning another corner, she saw a wide open door and windows that were broken from the outside. Her instincts told her not to go in and was only further solidified due to the earthy metallic stench that seemed strongest inside. She just walked past it. She wasn't about to get side tracked with a house that either had nothing or a corpse within. It wouldn't do her or anyone any good if she found nothing but a torn apart dead body.

A loud, echoing growl erupted from the distance, starling Lex. It sounded far away however, so she shouldn't run into the beast. As soon as she took another step, a different sound erupted from the same direction as the growl. It was a shrill scream, that had suddenly been cut off. The scream sent a chill down her spine as she continued on, unconsciously saying a prayer for the poor soul who had been attacked.

She continued to take turn after turn and nearly slipping a few times on the ice. She turned around another corner and found a lycan feasting on the flesh of a slaughter horse. The beast turned to her and snarled. It's body was a gray colour, covered in dirt and grime. It had shaggy and matted gray hair that was ripped out in places, dark eyes and an overbite with rows of razor sharp, broken teeth. It's claws and torn clothes were dirty and soaked in drying blood.

The lycan growled at her, saliva flying into the cold air. Lex swallowed and spoke in a low, stern voice. ''Out of my way. I'm in a bit of a hurry.''

The lycan sniffed the air and growled even more, refusing to move. ''I said, get out of my way. I don't have time to play these games, I'm on a bit of a tight schedule.''

The lycan shuffled to the side for moment before stepping back and growling even more, gripping onto the sides of its head. After a moment its head snapped back up and let out a rumbling roar before charging at her.

Lex placed her hands firmly on it's muscular chest as their bodies slammed against the cold ground. The snowy haired woman brought her legs up and placed them against the beast abdomen. The shaggy haired lycan let out another roar, spit flying onto her face as it tried to claw at her. Lex quickly grabbed the beast wrists and tried to wrestle it off of her.

''Get... the fuck... off of me!'' Lex shouted, using the strength in her legs to kicked the lycan off of her. The beasts' back hit a fence, giving Lex enough time to reach behind her and pull out the gun Ethan Winters had given her. She aimed the weapon at the beasts head and took in a breath before the pulling the trigger. However, a loud bang didn't sound. The trigger didn't even click. The gun wouldn't fire.
