throughout dinner, hyejin had avoided looking at jaehyun's way. she could feel her throat close up every time jaehyun would reach out for a dish that was right in front of her.

after dinner, she headed to her bedroom, in hopes to avoid jaehyun successfully. she doesn't know why she was trying so hard to avoid him.

she had to admit that his confession had made her like him more. but the problem was that she isn't sure if he was being genuine or not. jaehyun still hadn't come up to her and laugh at her face, telling her that he was joking the whole time.

hyejin groans, wiggling against her bed sheets in annoyance.

god, why was he making her feel this way?

"are you okay?" a voice scared her, making her jump up from her laying position.

her parents were stood by the now closed door, staring at her weirdly. hyejin laughs it off awkwardly, nodding.

"what are you doing here?" she asks when she notices her parents taking a seat on the end of the bed, "you're not watching tv with mr and mrs jeong?"

her mother shakes her head, "they went out with jihoon and jaehyun a while ago."

"oh."

"we wanted to talk to you about something."

it somehow had made her nervous. what else did they know? hyejin isn't sure either, because she hasn't done anything bad recently.

"this..." her mother trails off, looking down at the white tiled floor, "this has been an incredibly difficult decision for us, but we have made a choice after a lot of thinking."

"...what is it?" hyejin wonders. it was starting to get into her nerves, were they taking her out of school? god, she hope that's not it.

"we've agreed to let you continue dancing."

did she hear that right? she must've heard it wrongly. it couldn't be...

"huh?"

"we realised that your grades were actually going up," her mother continues, "and it would be unfair for us to stop our daughter from doing something she loves."

hyejin blinks once.

"b-but—"

"that being said, if your grades goes down, we are not going to hesitate to take you out of the academy, you hear me?" her mother warns, and hyejin nods with a beam on her face.

"really?!"

her mother sighs, holding back a smile, "do i sound like i'm joking?"

hyejin couldn't contain her grin, going up to pull her mother into a hug. she pulls away, "i promise i'll do super well in school."

"you better," this time her father spoke up, "now will you stop hibernating in the room? we're all going to watch a movie in the room, so you better join us."
...

hyejin throws herself on the bean bag, laying down happily, facing the tv. she didn't care what movie they were going to put on, even if it was horror, because her mind was distracted. she couldn't wait to tell her aunt back in seoul.

she stopped thinking when she notices the group of people entering their house. she matched eyes with jaehyun who was walking in with a white plastic bag filled with snacks.

her thoughts went back to this afternoon, when jaehyun confessed to her. well, 'confessed'. she still does not know if he was being serious or not.

she kind of wished that he was being sincere, but at the same time she hopes he was playing with her. but if he was being serious, why would he sabotage hyejin?
