Everyone knows that the tower in the center of town is home to the King of Halloween. Everyone except (Y/n), naturally.

So, of course, she had no sense of respect to mind her manners, her black rubber gloves picking up each and every little thing she could possibly get her hands on. A fountain pen was disassembled to see what made it work, left in ruins of springs and tubes as she turned to play with a clock hung unto the black wall, which was also left broken and sideways when she caught sight of a bowl of water filled with the skeletons of goldfish.

Joseph would switch back and forth from calm and collected to sheer distress every time (Y/n) found something new to play with. There was no end to what she could be entertained with, it was only a matter of how long it was entertaining.

And, really, it was fine that she was curious, that she engaged so well with her environment no matter where she went and always kept her mind thinking, but this is the Kings office, his meeting place, and nothing should be tampered with, so says Joseph.

The devilish three stood off to the side, playing amongst themselves and talking about whatever it was that interested them so, while Reimi sat stiff and distant in her chair, hands folded gracefully, but anxiously.

"(Y/n), please put that dead fish down." Joseph pleaded, crouching so that his eyes were opposite of her own, which seemed to avoid contact no matter what.

"Fish.... Dead fish, why does he have a bowl of dead fish?"

"It's not our business! Put it down and go wait in your seat!"

There was a subtle click that rang through the air, and however quiet it may have been, it was still noticeable, and all went quiet as the door behind the desk that (Y/n) and Reimi sat before opened up.

"No, it's a good question." A voice said, entering the room. "After all, it's not normal for people to keep a bowl of fish bones."

The King of Halloween, Risotto Nero, ducked beneath the doorframe as he entered the room with that powerful stride he never seems to lose. If his face weren't chiseled as it was, and his red eyes full of life, (Y/n) wouldn't have been able to guess that he was a skeleton like Mista. Really, the only thing that gave that away was the gaping hole in his chest that exposed a clean set of ribs.

"Call me crazy, but I think they're quite a treat." He hummed as he plucked the skeletal remains from her hands, and dropped them into his mouth, swallowing it all in one gulp. The Boogeywoman watched as the bones briefly came falling into view through the cavity in his chest, dropping to somewhere further down his body that she couldn't see through the small space.

"It also leaves less waste for everyone else to deal with. It's a win-win."

"Interesting! Is this a staple part of your diet, or more of something you snack on periodically?"

Joseph could be seen quietly ushering (Y/n) to silence herself, but just as before, his attempts were ignored, and even brushed off. Risotto didn't pay him any mind either.

"Both, more or less. The same way someone might drink water by itself, or with a meal."

Risotto hooked the drawer beside him with two nimble fingers and pulled it open, fetching some strange sheet of paper from a grey, rotten folder, his free hand blindly stretching along the desk to find a pen that hadn't been taken apart and reduced to fractions of itself.

Reimi was more concerned with the environment she and her friend were in, her body unmoving as she slowly took in her surroundings with (Y/n)s chattering rendering as background noise.
