In Sickness and In Health

The two of you rush into the house, the first warning is that the door is unlocked. You hear voices inside and the two of you grab out your wands cautiously before entering the house. George insists upon entering before you, but you follow close behind. You hear quiet talking, and a sniff, and the two of you round the corner with your wands out into the living room, where you see a sight more shocking than you thought possible.

Everyone was gathered around the couch, a red-headed figure laying on their back just visible over the high armrests. You look to George and the two of you put down your wands, running towards the woman.

Mrs. Weasley's eyes are closed and you see Aoibhe leaning closely over her with her medical kit out. The two of you bursting in made everyone look up "Where have you two been?!" You hear Fred shout from the back of the couch. You feel your face flush as you look around, Ginny has silent tears coming down her cheeks and is sitting in an arm chair, Bill close next to her, his arm around her back. Charlie is standing in a far corner, and you see Mr. Weasley perched beside Aoibhe, holding Molly's hand, tears coming down his own face. "What happened?" George asks beside you, moving forward towards where Molly is laying, avoiding Fred's question.

You take a moment before moving forward too, looking up at Fred "She had a heart attack" he says, the words caught in his throat. You gulp deeply "We need to get her to the hospital" Aoibhe says, looking over at Arthur, but he shakes his head "It's not safe to leave with her like this" he says quietly, staring at his dying wife, "I don't have the tools here to help her!" Aoibhe shouts, frustration mixed with sadness in her voice. Since her mom died, Molly was the closest thing Aoibhe had to a mother figure, and you could tell this was affecting her just as much as everyone, no matter how well concealed she kept it. It was disturbing seeing Arthur like this, you had never once seen him break, but looking at him as he stared at his wife, you felt as though everything was helpless.

"We have to do this" Aoibhe whispers softly, placing her hand on Arthur's shoulder, and you see him break slightly before nodding and Bill and George immediately move forward to help while you help Aoibhe guide Arthur away from his wife "We can't all go at once" you say to the room, "It'll look too suspicious" it takes a moment for this to settle in, but beside you Aoibhe talks in an authoritative voice "I'll have to go, and Arthur should come with, since she's his wife" you all nod and she continues "We'll need someone else, in order to help carry her" almost immediately Bill's hand shoots up, but from the corner you hear Charlie interject "I'll go" and he comes out of the shadows, cooly summoning a floating stretcher which Bill and George promptly put Molly on.

"The rest of you will have to come tomorrow," Aoibhe says, only then her voice breaking slightly "I'm sorry" is the only other thing she gets out before the 3 of them apparate to the hospital with Molly on the stretcher behind them. You turn around to face the people left, looking at their faces before moving towards Ginny, who's wiping the tears out of her eyes "I'm sure she'll be fine" you say, "She's strong" you felt as though you were intruding on family mourning, but then you remember, these people were your family now. You gulp, reaching towards Ginny, "We should go to bed" she gives you an incredulous look but you continue "We won't be able to see her til tomorrow, and I guarantee we won't hear news until then anyways" you look up at the twins, who are uncharacteristically quiet, and then at Bill who just silently nods "I'll walk Ginny up" Fred says and you nod "I'll come with" you give George a knowing look before turning to Ginny and walking along with her and Fred down the hall.

"I'm not a kid, I can get to bed by myself" Ginny says stubbornly as the three of you approach her room, but Fred is more focused on you as you stop in front of the door "That's why you weren't here tonight" he says, a cold look in his eyes, gesturing towards the dress you wore, George's jacket still draped over you, "We wanted you to be there-" you say quietly, not meeting his eyes "What are you talking about?" Ginny says from beside you, looking between the two of you, "Oh my god" she says, catching on "You and George got married!" She says a little too loud, and you shush her before speaking "Yes, we did" you say taking a breath "But that's not the biggest priority right now" you say slowly "We need to focus all our energy on your mum getting better, now go to bed" and you open Ginny's door, signaling for her to go in, she tries to protest but you interrupt her, pushing her in the room and closing the door.

"What were you thinking??" Fred says as soon as the door is closed "Eloping, in the middle of no where?" "It's not a big deal Fred!" You say moving away, but he follows close behind, continuing to talk, "My mum almost died, Robyn! And you were out getting married!" You turn around abruptly at the edge of the stairs, you and Fred now eye-to-eye "I couldn't have known this was going to happen" you say, tears springing in your eyes "I'm sorry, I'm sorry this happened, I'm sorry you weren't there, but I couldn't redo it if I wanted to!" At this you turn around and finish going up the stairs, leaving Fred behind.

You enter into your room where George is sitting on the bed, his head in his hands. At the door opening you see him quickly wipe his face before turning to you, "This was not how I expected this night to end" you say, George laughing lightly, as you take off his suit jacket and sit on the bed beside him. "I'm sorry" you whisper, looking up at your now husband "We couldn't have known it was going to happen" you say, swiping the hair out of his eyes, "I know" he says quietly, "But we should have been here" and he turns to face you, a humorless smile on his face, "I really am sorry" you say again, "Should we go to bed?" Is all George asks, looking away, and you nod lightly before he gets up and moves away from you, leaving you feeling more cold than before.

You had the distinct impression George blamed you for some of what happened this night, and you feel as though your fears are confirmed as you slip into bed with him. He turns his back to you, chosing to face away rather than look at you. You bite your lip before turning your own back to him, and falling into an uneasy sleep.
