Sweat dripped down his forehead.

"I'm getting hot again." Pier clicked his tongue as he held the head of the last monster that rose in the shore.

It took him quite some time to eliminate them because aside from the fact that he decided not to use other elements aside from his wind magic, he decided to think about ways to improve his spells.

"Haah." Pier sighed in annoyance.

His body was acting up again and he felt the overwhelming heat by the living phoenix inside him.

"Melfar, what's wrong?" He asked but he got no response from the mythical creature.

Pier removed the coat he was wearing until he was now left with his white shirt and trousers. Snow fell on the ground and it was literally freezing but Pier could not find comfort in the environment as his body suddenly started burning up at an alarming rate.

"Fuck." He cursed while looking around.

His eyebrows raise when he saw a certain place where he could probably bathe.

---

"Young master!" Trevor spoke in horror when he saw Pier was taking his time feeling relaxed while swimming at the ocean.

"Hmmm?" Pier tilted his head to the side as he watched Trevor run towards him with a panicked expression.

"It's freezing! You will get a frostbite if you stay in the ocean for too long!" He urged him to get out but Pier was thinking otherwise.

As a matter of fact, the area where he was submerging his body had a lukewarm temperature because of the heat he was producing.

It was helping him at least. The freezing coldness of the ocean that will instantly kill a person due to the instant decrease in temperature was reducing the heat he felt.

"Please come up to the shore now! Besides aren't there monsters living in the ocea-" However, Trevor stopped when he saw the pile of corpses on the shoreline not far from him.

"Oh..."

Pier decided to ignore Trevor for the time being and continue swimming in the ocean.

He was having the time of his life and he wanted to douse more in the waters.

"Young master!"

He clicked his tongue when he heard Trevor's voice call for him from the shore. He was starting to get annoyed with him too.

"Can you get me a towel back at the house? I'll stay here for a few more minutes!" Pier asked and Trevor, who was panicking so much inside his head and had just woken up could not think properly.

"O-Okay! Stay there and I will bring you a towel back- Wait! Please get out of there while I grab you a towel!" He was confused with his own words too making Pier chuckle.

He continued to swim in the ocean for a few more minutes just as he had said. He was enjoying the fine grains of sand under his feet and if it weren't winter and infested with monsters, the place would have been a good spot for visitors of the kingdom as well as a livelihood source for the locals.

"Hmmm... I'm not sure if that's the entirety of the monsters living in the coast here." Pier viewed the pile of corpses from afar.

"Fluffy?" He asked in the air and the brooch that was still in his trousers shook for a second.

Of course, he still wore his clothes even when bathing in the ocean because he did not know what odds would it be if there was a need for him to quickly emerge from the waters and go back into shore.
