"so i guess this is the part where we part ways." tyler said sadly. i gave him a small smile.

"thank you for walking me to my front door, ty. i had a wonderful first date with you." i told him.

"when can i see you again?"

"soon, for sure. you're a total gentleman and i'd definitely like to go on another date with you."

tyler smiled and his face lit up like a child on christmas morning. it made me happy that this first date we went on went so well. it really upset me that we had to part ways, i just wanted to invite him in for a movie.

but i couldn't be clingy. it was just our first date.

but then just like that, a huge boom of thunder shook through the sky. a bolt of lightning followed only ten seconds after. which anyone knew wasn't good. and then of course it started downpouring.

"i guess i really should get going now." tyler said with a small chuckle.

"wait," i stopped him. he looked at me. "why don't you come inside? just until the weather dials down. it's not safe to drive during a thunderstorm, especially during the night."

"are you sure?" tyler asked me. "i really wouldn't want to impose."

"don't be ridiculous, i'd hate for you to get into an accident."

i finally unlocked my front door and let myself and tyler inside. i internally thanked myself for being a clean person. i didn't want everything to be messy and for tyler to think i was a slob.

tyler took his shoes off and i took his coat from him and hung it up.

"your house is so nice." tyler complimented. i smiled.

"thank you. would you like some coffee?" i replied.

"i don't really drink coffee, but thank you for offering."

"there's other things too, like tea or yoo-hoo."

"like the chocolate milk?"

"yes."

"i love yoo-hoo." tyler said. i smiled.

"then i will grab you one out of the fridge." i replied. i walked to my refrigerator and grabbed one of my yoo-hoos. i then walked back to tyler and gave it to him.

"thanks, y/n." he thanked me.

"no problem."

we were silent for a few moments and i felt it growing to be a bit awkward. but the thunder kept booming louder so i knew i needed to find something to clear the air.

"want to watch a movie?" i suggested.

"what movies do you have?" he asked me. i shrugged.

"mostly rom-coms and marvel movies."

"do you have the first spider-man movies?"

"of course. want me to put the first one in?"

"sure."

i walked over to my tv and dvd player. i put the first spider-man movie in and sat on my couch. tyler just stood awkwardly and i giggled.

"tyler, you can sit by me you know. i won't bite." i told him. he chuckled nervously.

"i just didn't want you to be uncomfortable." he replied. he sat about two feet away from me.

"if i was uncomfortable i wouldn't invite you in." i said, sitting closer to him. he became less tense as i got closer. i just had to make sure it wasn't him that was uncomfortable.

i hit play on the movie but then got an idea.

"let me go grab a blanket." i decided. i ran to the closet in the back of my hallway and grabbed a fluffy blanket. i sat back on the couch next to tyler and put the blanket on myself.

"want me to share? you can get closer if you want." i offered. tyler got closer and i shared the blanket with him as the movie started.

about halfway into the movie tyler and i were full blown cuddling. it was comfortable. sure, we had only had our first date, but i was really starting to truly like tyler.

the way we met was super cliche. my best friend, abby's, brother josh was tyler's best friend. we met at a dun party and hit it off. he eventually asked me out on a date, which i obviously said yes to.

and now here we were, cuddling, watching spider-man.

i looked at tyler. he was staring at me. i blushed.

"shouldn't you be watching the movie?" i asked. tyler smirked.

"i think you're a lot prettier than the movie." he flirted. my cheeks grew hotter.

"i could say the same to you, tyler."

our faces grew closer and i knew he was going to kiss me. it sent butterflies to my stomach. normally on the first date i would think we were going too fast. but not this time.

"are you okay with me kissing you?" tyler asked before our lips touched. i nodded.

"i think that it's right." i replied. he then leaned in and pressed his lips against mine. they were soft and hinted of mint. when he pulled away we resumed our cuddling positions and i tried to hide my blush.

that was amazing.

about twenty minutes later, the credits rolled. i sat up and looked at tyler. the rain was finally down and there was no more thunder. which unfortunately meant, tyler had to leave.

"that was a good movie." tyler said. i nodded.

"i agree. next time i see you we definitely need to watch the other two movies." i replied. tyler smiled.

"and when will i see you again?" he asked me.

"soon."

he just shook his head and stood up. i stood up with him.

"i should definitely get going. the weather has dialed down and its getting really late. i have to be to the studio to record songs with josh tomorrow morning." tyler said.

"of course. let me walk you to the front door." i replied.

"as long as it doesn't start downpouring again." tyler joked. i giggled and walked him to the front door. he slid his shoes on and looked at me before leaving.

"so i'll see you soon?" he asked me one last time. i smiled and nodded.

"absolutely. drive safe and please text me when you make it home." i said.

"i will. goodnight, y/n."

"goodnight, tyler."
