"Here." Pier tossed a bag towards the child and Caleb's eyes widened as he caught it.

"Young master, what is this for?" He asked while eyeing the small pouch.

"Use that while I am away. Do whatever you want with it. Buy food if you do not like the dishes served in the palace, buy instruments or anything you like." He spoke while he wore the winter coat Gideon gave him before.

"B-But this is too much money!" He retorted when he saw the shining gold coins inside.

"It's fine. It isn't too much for me and I would love to help your family especially now that it's winter." Pier spoke before giving the child one last glance and leaving the room.

Caleb was left sitting on the bed that he had slept the night before with a heavy pouch in his hands that probably is worth an entire year of their family's food.

'The young master helped me again.' He thought while clenching the bag of golden coins.

---

Pier sighed and a breath cloud was made in the air.

"Master...?" The dead fairy that was transformed into a brooch that had a black gemstone in the middle inquired in his mind which made Pier sigh even more.

He felt like he was a house to so many creatures already.

Having the phoenix first live in his body and feed on his fire magic, it was already weird enough but now he had another mythical creature talking in his head and worse, it was dead. Dead!

Not that he can do anything about that. The fairy's first master was someone who controlled the darkness and collected the souls of those who cannot accept their death and continue living.

He does not have the right to go against the creature becoming a brooch either way because it was the best option rather than having it in its original form flying around him like a fly.

As Pier walked down the stairs of the tower that leads to the hall of the palace where the nobles were gathered, he took a view of himself in the reflection of the palace's window.

He wore a white suit underneath that had royal blue embroideries on the corners and he also wore the same-colored cufflinks. Attached around his neck was a platinum necklace, in his left hand was a golden chain bracelet that had blue diamonds dangling, while in his right hand was the golden ring with a crystal diamond in the center and another platinum ring. Not to mention the black crystal brooch attached on his chest.

"I look so expensive." He sighed while viewing his appearance.

He hated anything too grand on his clothes but every single jewelry he is wearing right now was important. At least he could hide the platinum necklace but the others were too obvious.

Pier huffed one more time as he finally descended on the stairs and into the halls that would direct him to the room where the gathering would happen.

Today he would be expanding his influence around a certain village at the outskirts of the kingdom. He also needed to accompany someone from one of the households that supports him and teach the person some ways to rule.

His head already started to hurt as he thought about it.

---

"The young master has arrived!" The servant announced and every noble inside the room turned their heads at him.

Pier went inside the room not minding the usual stares he would get. However, this time people were looking at him with admiration and a hint of envy as well.
