Chapter 23

                                    

                                          
Klaus woke Hayley, placing Hope on her chest.
She awoke and kissed Hope on the head sitting up.
"Morning my love. Any developments since the loss of sadness?"
She shook her head. "I still love you, and my little ones."
"Good."
It'd been two days since their date, and Hayley was loosing her emotions faster than she cared to admit.
All she had left, was love, guilt and anger.
She had tried everything to try and get them back, but each attempt was unsuccessful.
"The Bennett witch has finished the protection spell on all of us, we'll all be safe."
She nodded and held Hope in her arms.
"Good. I'm gonna go freshen up."
She passed her back over to Klaus, walking into the bathroom.
She turned the tap on and splashed face face with water, then looked up to the mirror.
The water continued running.
She stared at herself and watched, as blotches of blood red consumed her face, until she looked just like her father.
Her eyes as black as night, her hair slicked back.
Lucifers words rung in her head.
"Your devil face will show when you feel as if that's the image that fits you best."
In the mirror, her hands were red, but when she looked to them they were completely normal.
Water spilled over the sink, dripping onto the floor, but she continued to ignore it.
Hayley looked down to her reflection in the running water, which was the same.
Her hands rested either side of the sink as she leant over, studying her face.
She put her hand on her cheek, her skin still feeling soft as usual.
"Hayley?!" Klaus forced the door open, walking over and turning the tap off as she stood there, her expression plain.
"What's the matter?!"
Hayley remained silent as Klaus puller the pug in the sink. He gently turned her head to look at her.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't feel anything at all.
"Nothings the matter, I just spaced out."
She moved his hand from her cheek and walked out, Klaus's face dropping as he realised.
A single tear escaped his eye.
He soon wiped it away and called everyone but Hayley down for a meeting.
He brung the twins and Hope, and they all sat around the table.
"Well, it's official. Hayleys gone.."
