(Katniss's POV)

Peeta has been shaken up for a week now.

I don't even attempt to ask.

Now, it's time for Willow's first day of school.

We get to the school and she clings onto Peeta's prosthetic.

He gives Rye to me and kneels down in front of her. "Willow, honey, it's only for a couple days this week. You may not like it, but I promise that you'll live."

She starts to shake and he pulls her into his arms. "It'll be okay. Your teacher is Auntie Delly!"

Her blue eyes light up. She hugs him, me, and the baby before running into the school.

Peeta looks at me with tears in his eyes. "Katniss.......she was my baby. What am I gonna do?"

"Quit getting ahead of yourself in sadness. She is growing up, but we still have Rye, don't we?"

He nods.

"I guess we do, Kat."

We walk back home and I set Rye into his cradle in the living room. I walk out of the room and Peeta walks in there and turns on the TV.

It's just an episode of Caesar Flickerman's talk show. He gets with new up-and-coming national stars and talks about their lives.

"Peeta, quit watching that junk. It's not doing you any good."

He sighs and turns it off and picks up Rye.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow

A bed of grass, a soft green pillow

Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes

And when again they open, the sun will rise.

Here it's safe, here it's warm

Here the daisies guard you from every harm

Here you dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true

Here is the place where I love you.

I'm about to make him stop, but he continues.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away

A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam Ray

Forget your woes and let your troubles lay

And when again it's morning, they'll wash away.

Here it's safe, here it's warm

Here the daisies guard you from every harm

Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true

Here is the place where I love you.

I tear up. Peeta has the second most beautiful male singing voice I've heard in my life, after my father of course, who is going to be quite surprised once he hears of this.

"That was beautiful," I say and my husband turns.

He smiles. "Thank you."

I think I'll have to show this "new" talent to Willow once she gets back home in the afternoon.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
