Rachel lowered her head before she took off her necklace and placed it in my hand, "But I couldn't just stand there and watch you all die. You all are wonderful people. With wonderful hearts. Share that happiness with others and teach them how to laugh and smile too. Just like... how you all did with me."
Rachel smiled brightly as she looked at all of us.
"I've had such a wonderful journey... Thanks to all of you," Rachel smiled, before she disappeared forever.
Tears silently fell down all our faces as the light from our magic disappeared.
My whole body shook as I opened my hand to see her necklace there, no longer aglow.
Memories flowed through my mind of her as I stared at it.
"Nice to meet you all. My name is Rachel, Rachel Medallia."
"I don't see a monster, all I see is Freed."
"It doesn't matter how he looks or sounds on the outside, because he's Freed no matter what on the inside and that's what really matters," Rachel smiled.
"You're a kind soul Freed. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong."
"Why? Why are you doing this Freed? Why are you hurting your friends?"
"I don't know how to trust. I only know what it's like not to trust someone."
"Wow Freed, that was fast," Rachel remarked impressed.
"I don't want people to look at me like I'm fragile, like I'm broken."
"I trust you Freed. More than anyone else in the guild."
"Really now? That bruise on your chin says otherwise Bickslow," Rachel taunted him with a smile.
"Please don't leave," she whimpered.
"HOW THE HELL CAN YOU SAY I'M STRONG!"
"No! Please no! Don't make meeee!" Rachel whined getting dragged away.
"I'm not afraid of your magic Freed, and I'm not afraid of those demons inside of you either."
"I could never be afraid of you Freed."
"Are you kidding? This is perfect!" Rachel exclaimed happily.
"I'm afraid, but, I won't let that stop me!"
"You guys make me so happy. You guys are the best family I could've ever asked for."
"Demon's gotta protect his angel, right?"
"I WOULDN'T DARE DIE! NOT UNTIL I KNOW THEY ARE SAFE!"
"Don't you trust me?" Rachel winked.
"Thank you, for everything."
Tears cascaded down my cheeks as they dripped on top of the lifeless flower necklace in my hand. I brought the necklace to my chest as a strangled cry escaped my lips.
"Arrraaahhhh!" I screamed to the sky.
Bickslow in the others cried behind me as we all grieved over the loss of our friend.
She sacrificed everything she had for us, and it will be something we'll never forget.
Rumble. Crack.
Everyone froze at the sudden sound.
The rubble from the battlefield shook before it blew apart.
Our blood ran cold as we stared at the sight before us.
A dark black shadowy humanoid figure stood up dusting himself off as he stood from the wreckage below us.
"Finally, after 500 years. I'm back, in my true form!" Valenzula grinned as he stood on top of the rubble of the battlefield.
