Spirit Day (Ch.20)

                                    

                                          
Jaden: "Alright! It's finally here!!!"
                          
Moving back, I rubbed the entrance of my ears, a soft ping bouncing inside and quickly shook my head as Jaden screamed near my ear once more. His attitude is infectious to Chumley and Syrus as they carry on with him.
                          
Y/N: "Can you three... Please... Not scream in my ear!!!"
                          
Jaden: "Oh... Sorry."
                          
With a sigh, I turned to our little group as we stood near the entrance of the Slifer Dorm. It was a mess of a morning. Jaden had called it an emergency meeting, forcing us all up at early hours.  Apparently, another shadow rider had attacked soon after Abidos. Deciding to go after Alexis.
                          
But she had quickly taken him out, leaving us with still six keys and technically three shadow riders left. Glancing at each member who still had their keys, I understood we were slowly getting more confident in our duelling abilities.
                          
However, that wasn't what was on Jaden's mind or even the thought he should bring up. So now, instead, it was focused solely on. Duel Monster Spirit Day. Apparently, it was a festival similar to Halloween or something. 
                          
Even walking here, I had found students already in costumes.
                          
Alexis: "So the Pharaoh guy was a fake?
                          
Y/N: "That's what he said... Said something about his duelling was a requirement to join."
                          
Jaden: "Yeah. Not really, all-powerful now that I think about it."
                          
Bastion: "In any case, we should be on the lookout; there are only three more Shadow riders."
                          
Zane: "Meaning we're getting closer to the end."
                          
I nodded, crossed my arms and turned to the slivers already hard at work setting up for the event for today.
                          
Y/N: "Maybe, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't stay focused."
                          
Jaden: "Oh, come on, guys. The festival only takes place once a year. It's where we all come together to have a little fun. Those Shadow Riders have been an issue for a long time now. No reason we can't take today off?"
                          
Syrus nodded as he brought over a few supplies for the event. Then, handing each of us a poster.
                          
Syrus: "I agree; you guys have been working too hard, and everyone knows it. Maybe it might be good for all of you to take a break. And come visit my duelling area, where you will fight the one and only dark magician girl."
                          
Leaning against a tree, I studied the poster more closely.
                          
Y/N: "With food and drink, and the one and only Dark magician girl will be duelling today... Hmm."
                          
Syrus: "So, what do you think?"
                          
Glancing over to the rest of the group, I looked to Zane and shrugged my shoulders.
                          
Y/N: "Well, if nothing else, it will be entertaining, to say the least... I could use a little R&R."
                          
Zane: "You agree?"
                          
I nodded, taking a step closer to Jaden.
                          
Y/N: "If we let fear govern us, we'll make mistakes. There's no reason we can't enjoy ourselves or have a little fun. With that in mind... Why not let it be today?"
                          
Jaden: "Sweet."
                          
Chazz: "Eh, why not."
                          
Jasmine and Mindy squealed, grabbing ahold of Alexis.
                          
Jasmine: "We can finally get our costumes."
                          
My ears perked up at that statement.
                          
Y/N: "Costumes?"
