•○•Darling placed a white box, with a pink bow in front of Lady, who peered at it curiously. She untied the fabric as Lady and (Y/n) were shown a dainty blue collar with a golden name tag that shone brightly as Darling lifted it. Lady jumped up carefully in excitement, placing herself in (Y/n)s lap causing the beige fabric of her knee length skirt to shrivel into a bundel revealing her chestnut brow stockings that contrasted with the blue bow tieing her (h/c) hair back.
"I hope it fits. My, but it does look nice." Darling hoped out loud as (Y/n) took the collar and placed it on Lady gently.
"So charming and grown up. Don't you think so mother? Won't Jock and Trusty be surprised Lady?" The young woman mentioned as her mother placed the mirror in front of the questioning dog. Lady looked at herself happily before running off happily, (Y/n) going to follow.
"Before you go dear." Darling held her daughters shoulder and moved her hair to one side. "Here to celebrate a happy day." The older woman smiled at her child as she placed a necklace around her neck, one that looked simular to Lady's collar.
"Thank you so much! I'll cherish it forever." She hugged her mother and ran of to go show her older neighbours. Samuel and Charles.
An aged short man with greying hair and a mustache walked out of his hone in a suit and top hat, beside him a Scottish Terrier with a red license collar and holding a bone in his mouth. The man hummed along as he travelled down the neighbourhood garden path and passed the Dears' garden.
He went to enter, checking if anyone was near him the dog doing the same before going back to his mumbled singing pulling a box of cigarettes out of his breast pocket and opening a bush. The insides of the bush had a small cardboard box filled with even more full packs of the stuff inside. "That's a grand sight." He chuckled to himself as his dog buried his bone elsewhere nearby.
"Sam! Oh, Sam!" She spotted the old army man and grinned making her way towards his leaned over figure that was now closing the bush abruptly. "Hello, Sam." She smiled kindly.
"It's you lassie." he stuttered as she came closer and picked up Lady, who was beside Jock.
"Notice anything different about me and Lady?" She stayed as she walked around him happily.
"Why, lassie you've both got a matching set." The old man smiled as he inspected Lady's collar.
"Do you like them?" (Y/n) questions excited from the gift she had received and not noticing how he jumped away from the bush.
"It must have been very expensive. Have you shown it to Charles yet? He'd probably like to know seeing as you are basically like our granddaughter." Samuel smiled with a warm glint in his eye he was always fond of the girl he had known since she was how he put it 'a wee tot' and adored your little smile ever since. In fact a few times he let her come round for tea with her mother, who he saw as his own daughter. He even cried when she left for her first day of school. But of course he'd never admit it.
