The evening swiftly turned to a deep night: you held onto Levi's hand tightly as you both slowly wandered back through the barracks.

Your mind was still processing the previous days; the original scare of losing the man you loved; the argument with Levi; almost dying in that battle; Levi whispering the first, sweet 'I love you'.

Your expression relaxed, gazing to the ground as you tightened your fingers around his. Your boyfriend glanced at you from the corner of his eye, the moonlight hitting against each feature of his face.

His thumb ran up your palm as he walked even closer to you. He lowered his head, the silence between you becoming both comfortable, yet still anxiety-filled from the mission.

He raised your hand to his face as you felt his lips slowly drift against the back of your palm, his grey eyes fluttering to a close.

Your expression softened into a warm grin, "What was that for?" You gently asked with a dreamy gaze.

His silver eyes slowly ran back to yours: "You scared me today." He whispered, before swallowing with a piercing frown, "I-.." The Captain paused, "I never want to feel that fear again."

You smiled, brushing hair away from Levi's face, "I'm sorry."

He lowered his head into your palm, "You don't have to keep apologise for scaring me.."

You hesitated.

You lowered your head, "No.." Your voice lowered, "I'm sorry for last night.. I was being-.." You hesitated, watching his expression soften, "Unfair, and impatient, and you didn't deserve that."

Levi swallowed, "I should've told you that I was going on such a dangerous mission yesterday."

You offered him a weak smile, "That doesn't change the fact that I was being so harsh with you.. I really am sorry, Levi."

Your boyfriends expression weakened, his fingers slowly tracing up your forearms until he finally reached your palms. His fingers entwined with yours, firmly grasping around your hands.

He tilted his head, offering you a gentle smile, "Okay, fine: maybe we were both in the wrong." He sighed through his nose, "But I don't care about that. Not after today." Levi shook his head, still tightly grasping onto your hand before a short sigh slipped from his mouth, "So.. what happened to you? How did you survive?"

You offered a small, nervous laugh, "It all went so quickly.." Your eyes slowly ran from his shoulder, down his arm and then finally to the wooden ground below your feet, "Erm-.. I was distracted, so my body became visible before I'd even realised. Then suddenly, I was locked inbetween all of the titans, and then one of them managed to grab my head and pin me to the ground." You turned nervous with the memories from just a few hours ago, "I managed to escape from the nape in a split-second before they crushed my titans head to the ground; I slid my body in the crevice between a rock and tree, it was-.."

You inhaled a sharp breath, watching him stop walking.

You hadn't even realised but you had been shaking in his touch. His hands ran up your arms, keeping you in place: you couldn't describe how unbelievably safe you felt with him - even just with his hands against your arms.
