Midoriya was in one of the back caverns that had a hole in it, providing natural light. All around the cave were stalactites and stalagmites. He was supposed to remove however many he could so this area could be converted into a barracks. He activated float and began rising to the ceiling. As he was slowly rising, he struggled to stay upright. Unlike the previous time he was using float, he wasn't simply shooting himself into the air, he was trying to maintain a consistent height. He reached the ceiling, still struggling to keep balance. He grabbed the closest stalactite and pulled on it. Between his trying to pull the ice spike and trying to keep his balance he didn't know if he could do both. Float deactivated and he was then hanging from the stalactite. He started slipping until after a little bit he started falling. He tried to rope himself back onto the stalactite using Blackwhip, but instead it pulled the spike off the ceiling. He put his arms over his face and closed his eyes so he didn't see himself either get impaled or splattered on the ground.

He didn't feel anything hit him, and he didn't feel the impact on the ground. He slowly opened his eyes and removed his arms and saw the stalactite floating over his head and saw he was floating a couple inches from the ground. He then saw the reason he wasn't dead in two ways.

"You okay, Deku?" Uraraka asked.

"U-Uraraka," he said, "did you finish up your assignment from Hera?"

Uraraka helped him upright and moved the stalactite away from him. She restored their gravity and the stalactite fell to the ground.

"She actually said you could probably use a little help," she said, "and it's a good thing I got here when I did. Otherwise you'd need more than Recovery Girl to heal you up."

"Thanks," he said, "think you could get all of the stalactites?"

"Yeah, shouldn't be a problem," she said, touching her chest with a bare hand.

She began floating to the ceiling while Midoriya walked to a stalagmite and broke it, tossing it aside. Uraraka was kicking down all of the stalactites she was near. A few minutes later the floor was covered with broken ice. Uraraka looked around for a place to land safely, but everywhere was quite the drop.

"Do you want me to catch you?" Midoriya asked, standing beneath her.

"Sure," Uraraka said, "one sec..."

She took her gloves off and pressed her fingers together. She fell into Midoriya's arms, who used a small burst of Float to get halfway up to her to catch her. They slowly made their way back down. Once they were on the ground, they just stared at each other. Midoriya's hood had fallen from his parka, and he had small flecks of ice in his hair. Uraraka's hood was still on, but what hair was showing also had ice flecks in it. Midoriya had a thought instantly flash through his head:

So cute-- CLOSE! SO CLOSE... she's... very beautiful...

Almost subconsciously they closed their eyes and their faces slowly began inching towards each other.

But then something flashed through Uraraka's head: Ashido screaming "IT'S LOVE!!!" and Aoyama asking "Is it because you like him?" Her face immediately turned scarlet. She leapt out of his arms to his overt surprise, and began running toward the exit.

"YOU GET STARTED CLEANING DEKU, I'LL TELL HERA WE'RE DONE!!!" She yelled while she ran.

"Oh...okay..." he said, confused and... disappointed.

Uraraka was running through the caves, in the general direction of Hera, but she wasn't fully aware of her surroundings, as she was just reprimanding herself.

No! she thought, I thought I had put these feelings away! Why are they coming back!? Just stay down!!!

She very nearly collided with Hera, but she stopped herself in time.
