You are lead down a series of large, extravagant hallways, all of which were impossibly shiny and pristine befitting that of a kingdom. And surprisingly, couldn't help but feel admittedly excited at the idea of living within such a grand place.

"We're here." You snapped back into attention at the blue pearl's soft voice cutting the lengthy silence between you all. You look up to see she had lead you into some type of dressing room, complete with a chair and vanity, containing various tools that you weren't familiar with. On one side of it was a large body mirror, and the other was a large dresser.

"Do you like it?" Blue pearl suddenly asks, snapping you out of your observation

"Do you like it?" Blue pearl suddenly asks, snapping you out of your observation. "It was a custom the human Connie had suggested a while back."

Letting go of your hand, she gently ushers you toward the chair, to which you cooperatively sit down, shuddering at the cold contact. "We don't use this room very often, since we gems are already perfect the way we are," she gives a smug smirk. "But we do use this room for the few organics allowed to roam here. Or if we want to touch-up before a Ball."

"A... ball?" You repeated curiously.

"An extravagant party thrown for the higher ups of homeworld," another voice spoke. This one was light and sweet, almost like blue pearl's, but more perky and optimistic. "It's quite a fun event, if I do say so myself."

You turned to find another thin gem with her back turned to you. It was another pearl. Only unlike her yellow and blue comrades, her color theme was entirely pink with her body attire being split in the middle, resembling a bikini. Her hair was tied neatly into swirled buns on either side of her head. She had a very optimistic air about her, and you couldn't help but feel at eased at her presence.

"Yes, well... at least they were fun." Yellow pearl muttered, as she gathered materials from the vanity drawers. "Now we barely have anymore of those..."

"Well, they certainly will now!" Spoke the pink pearl as she turned and approached you, and you flinched at the large scar over her right eye. It reminded you of the cracks on mirrors and porcelain dolls you'd find in the shipwrecks you used to look through, the thick blemishes running across her cheek and up into her hairline. It looked... painful.

And yet she wore a bright, friendly smile on her face, as she clasped her hands behind her back, looking surprisingly excited. "After all, who doesn't want to learn on how a siren's voice sounds?"

"We'll see..." Yellow pearl replied curtly as she leaned forward to examine your face. You simply remained still and allowed her to do so, your eyes darting around a bit to avoid eye contact. "Hm... though you're still quite pleasant to look at..." She releases your face, and rubs her chin in thought. "I believe a little touch-up wouldn't hurt." You simply nodded, not sure of what she means.

Yellow pearl lifted her brow in interest at your lack of response as she walks around behind you. "Not much of a chatty type..." she mutters, as she starts to run a hair brush through your soft, slick hair.

"She's probably just shy." Noted the pink pearl as she took out a big fluffy face brush, and dipped in a pink blush. "After all, organics always tend to be a bit shy when they first come here, right?" She delicately brushes your cheeks, covering them in a thin layer of pink, giving them a pleasant rosie hue.

"Actually, most seem to be more loud and fussy when they first come here," yellow pearl noted, as she started to run a comb through your hair. "Never expected an organic, let alone a creature like this, to be so quiet and cooperative." She toyed with a few strands of hair, enjoying the texture of it between her fingers.

"I like it." Blue pearl hums, smiling lightly as she filed your claws down, curving them to a more suitable size. "And I'm sure our diamonds will appreciate such behavior."

"Certainly!" Piped the pink pearl enthusiastically. "Close your eyes for this, please." You complied quietly, allowing her to brush a hot pink layer of eye shadow over your eyelids. "And once she's comfortable, I hope to see her in action!"

"Indeed. I really do hope to see how well these wings work." Blue pearl notes, pausing her task at painting your claws, to look at your folded wings from behind your back. Then her gaze trailed down to your tail, that tapped lightly against the ground to an unknown rhythm. "And I bet she's just as gracefully in the water as she is in the air."

"That is, if our diamond doesn't break her first." Yellow pearl quips in a snarky tone, tying your hair back into a neat ponytail with a pink scrunchie, and fixes your bang. "His temper has become increasingly unstable these past few weeks, even by his mother's standards..."

You tensed up at hearing this. His mother had a temper as well?

How bad could their tempers gave been??

"Oh don't scare her like that!" Pink Pearl scolds, applying a thin layer of sparkly pink gloss to your lips. "He's... not as bad as she was. Greg said he's just going through a human phase. It'll pass!"

At this point, you're helped to your feet by pink pearl, who smiles warmly at you, and hands you a bundle of fresh, neatly folded clothes. "This part you can do yourself." You take the bundle as she points over to a small curtain entrance. "After which, we'll add our final touches."

You simply complied and stalked over to the smaller room, disappearing behind the curtain.

Yellow pearl frowns in pity. "It's always the sweetest ones."

Blue pearl lowers her head. "It's such a shame..."

"Oh, would you both stop it?" Pink Pearl snapped. "He's not gonna hurt this one!"

"You said the same thing with the other 3 gems that were assigned to him, two of which were quartz soldiers and one was a fusion."

Pink pearl winced, biting her lip at a surge of uncertainty. "I... It... it will be different this time."

She looked down, bringing a hand to her face, brushing her fingers against the place her eye should've been.

"It's got to be."

...what? If homeworld's gonna have a human hybrid, let alone co-exist [somewhat] with humans often, you should expect a room like this here.

(And being on the same planet with the only known male gem [aside from rainbow quartz 2.0 but he doesn't exist here], you're gonna wanna look your best for him- >_>)
