We had been stuck here for five days now. Freezing our asses off, starving, living off of rations and frozen water. It couldn't have gotten any worse than this.
We'd all be sitting in our fox holes day and night, going on patrols, to hold the line in Bagston. Placed between the towns of Foy and Bizory. On either side of us was Fox and Dog company who wouldn't even dare to come our of their fox holes. 
All the trees were blown down so we used them to cover our Fox holes. We lost Penkala last night due to the bombing. Skip and Malarky was affected the most by it. Joe and Guarnere lost their legs and was sent back. For that, we lost Bull who blamed himself. I constantly checked on everyone to make sure they were okay. Not just for their sake, but for me too. 
I was sitting in my fox hole, trying to keep my tiny body warm. I was the only girl in the Army, other than the Nurse Corps, but I just thought that was to tacky. I wanted to be in some real action. To carry my fathers legacy since I was the only child in the family.
"Hey y/n!" I jumped out of my thoughts, and looked up to see Skip.
"Hey Skip, where have you been?" I asked confused since we shared a fox hole.
"Ahh they needed me and a few others to get closer to the town of Foy to see what the scallywags were doing."
"What were they doing?" I smirked.
"Well, they were singing jingle bells and deck the halls if that makes you feel any better, they also were laughing about something and we asked Lieb if he understood what they had said and he said that they were laughing about Santa's fat belly.." we both looked at each other and bursted out laughing. he slid down into the fox hole next to me and put his cloak around my body and grabbed my hands and blew in them.
"I have no idea how you are still managing right now. You must be freezing" he said constantly rubbing my hands with his.
"Yeah. Not used to this winter weather at all, but it's nice to have you to warm me up." I said smiling up at him.
He pulled me in. Feeling the warm breath from his mouth on my cheek made me heat up in an instant. 
"Merry Christmas y/n"
