"You are a freak!" the words of her ex-boyfriend, Fitz.
"Stop trying to replace Jolie! We will never love you as much!" Edaline and Grady had no idea how hard those words had hit her that day they had gotten into an argument.
"I'm sorry Sophie, you...
As soon as the doors closed, Ruy turned on his heel and gestured for her to follow him. He then led her through a few other twists and turns.
"So... where are we going?" She asked, trying to fill up the uncomfortable silence, though she had a sneaking suspicion.
"Dorms," Came Ruy's one-word response.
A few minutes later, she was standing in a room with 3 bunk beds, stacked on top of one another and three tables on the opposite side of the room.
There was also an oval rug in the middle. The rug was gradient, fading from blue to purple to pink, and only one of the tables looked occupied.
(just pretend this is oval)

"The top bunk is already occupied so you can only use the bottom two. The last bed is for whoever comes last." Ruy pointed as he said, looking back in what seemed to be disgust one last time before he left.
Putting down her backpack, Sophie chose the bottom bunk. Then, she started unpacking her things. She tried to make things aesthetic like how she always saw Linh do and when she was done, she brushed her hands, feeling satisfied.
Sophie chose white for her theme, putting a white dustbin next to the desk. There was also lamps and plants everywhere. Although what Grady and Edaline said to her still stung, she knew they only said it out of anger and couldn't hold a grudge against them.
They had still shown her a lot of love and to remember their kindness, she also put a few things they had gifted her.

(ignore the devices and pretend that the penholder with the letter D had the letter S instead. Also, in case you are wondering where she got all the stuff from, she secretly has more powers but that will make more sense later in the story.)
The door swung open and Nubinti walked in, looking a bit sheepish.
"Have you always been with the Neverseen then?" Sophie asked bitterly, not even letting her speak.
The dwarven queen winced. "You have to understand Sophie, the Neverseen only came to me once I became queen. They want allies with powerful rulers. I only agreed because they proved to me that the Blackswan is not what we thought it is.
You see, both the Neverseen and the Blackswan are supposed to recruit those who don't fit in, but the Blackswan only recruits powerful people. Haven't you noticed, all their members have abilities. Except for Timkin Heks. But he was only recruited to "prove to you" that the Blackswan was what they said they were.
They were careless with his identity on purpose. Why else did you think that you discovered his identity so quickly? And why didn't they recruit Brant? Jolie was in the Blackswan so they definitely knew about him."
Sophie blinked once, twice. Now that Nubinti mentioned it, she was right. She ran through the conversation again, trying to absorb the information when she caught onto one part.
"Wait, how did they prove to you? Their words are not enough proof."
"After hearing the Neverseen out, like you said – their words are not enough proof – somehow they seemed to know what I was thinking. They gave me a list of instructions on how to get to Forkle's office and where to search. I thought since there was no way the Neverseen were right, no harm in searching right?
Turns out, the drawer they asked me to search indeed had a few important documents. That's how I found out that the Blackswan only recruited powerful people. After that, I accepted the Neverseen's offer and managed to get most of the dwarves to join the Neverseen too.
At least now I know the Neverseen is exactly what they say they are. Everywhere you walk you can see some underdogs. The Neverseen members will take a while to get used to you by the way, you were always the Blackswan's number one one weapon." Nubinti finished.
Sophie felt like banging her head on the wall. Her whole life has been a lie.
"Good luck with the next few days, you're going to take in a lot of information." Nubinti said as she left.
