I.

It was raining outside. He could hear the pitter-pattering on the glass behind the blinds, and on the roof too. The trees were chanting as the wind caressed its leaves. A dim light piercing from under the blinds not to leave the bedroom completely dark because of Zane, who was still in his bed. Stone tiptoed to the bathroom not to disturb any of the two people inside the bedroom with him, and when he came back, he stopped near his boy just to check on him. When he kneeled on the mattress Jeff and Maggie had put in there, he noticed how Zane was perspired on his neck. The tips of his hair were wet. Thus, he pulled the covers a bit away, leaving him uncovered from his waist up, pulling the sleeves of his pajama shirt carefully down after, for they were rolled up until his elbows. Then, he adjusted the pillow under his head and adjusted the hem of the shirt so his back wasn't showing. Gently, he combed Zane's hair with the tip of his fingers, noticing how heavily he was sleeping. His lips slightly parted as he breathed so peacefully, sleeping on his stomach. A smile formed on his lips as he looked down at his son. Sometimes, he looked at Zane, who was so perfect to his eyes, and he couldn't believe that he was his. Zane was so beautiful as he slept, his steady heart, his steady breaths were more than enough to make him fall in love with that little boy all over again.

"He's awake?" Iris's voice made him turn his head to their bed and he smiled at her.

"No." Stone got up and then approached their bed. "He was sweating..." He explained as he sat on the bed.

"Is he alright now?" Iris rubbed her eyes, trying to keep them opened for she had just awaken up.

"Yeah..." Stone pulled the covers up and slid inside the bed, rolling on his side to wrap an arm around her waist. Next, his lips touched her cheek. "I uncovered him a little. I guess he's fine now."

"What I saw was you cuddling him." Iris turned her head to him and smiled.

Stone ran the tip of his fingers over her hair to pull her wild strands off her face. A sweet smile on his lips, making her heart thump in that familiar way.

"He's so perfect that sometimes I can't believe that we made him."

"Oh, babe..." Iris pouted and then leaned over him to kiss him on the lips. When she pulled away, she grinned and he knew the melting moment was gone and that she was about to roast him. "I can recall my father's reaction when we told him..." Iris cracked a laughter when he threw himself back on the mattress, slapping his own forehead.

"Fuck..." He laughed quietly too. "Jesus... he was beyond pissed off at us."

"And he knew about it all the time because I know my mother told him." She rolled over him, staying on top of him and looked down on his face. "Imagine if he had no clue at all... and you want to have another..." Stone raised both hands and held her hair back so he could see her face.

"We are married now and we already have Zane."

"My father thinks that was a one-time thing." Iris laughed and he smiled.

"Oh..." He curled an eyebrow. His special mocking smile formed on his lips and that cocky expression of his dominated his face. "So, in his head he thinks that we don't do it?"

"I can see something really stupid coming up!" Iris giggled for she knew all his expressions. "Stone..." She added a slight menacing tone.

"Is that supposed to scare me?" He laughed and she buried her head on the side of his neck and bit him which only caused him to laugh more and shudder under her at the same time. "I can recall all the times we did it under his roof." He continued and Iris started tapping his arm.

"You're awful!" She looked down in his face once more but smiling and giggling.

"I am not lying, California." He winked. "And I can also recall some..." Iris covered his mouth with her hand and he started laughing hard. His laughter muffled by her hand though.
