Excited.

That’s what Chaewon feels right now. Rather, it actually can be an understatement. Her meetings for the whole day had been adjourned and the last one was just minutes ago, yet she doesn’t feel tired at all.

The only thing swimming in the sea of her consciousness is that she’ll be able to meet her mother.

There’s a soft smile adorning her face as she walks through the hallways of their building to head at her office. Nako is nowhere to be seen, most likely still touring her new intern. Till now, Chaewon can’t believe how those two clicked immediately just after their first meeting.

[Nako had messaged her just before the meeting started how she was supposed to be a secretary and not a tourism guide only to change her words seconds later with okay yeah maybe I can make an exception since you’re my boss. Chaewon’s certain it isn’t the reason but let’s it go in the end.]

Maybe it’s the height difference,

With excitement in her veins, she took her phone from her pocket, dialling Nako’s number, once Nako responded, she immediately said what she thought would be the most proper greeting for interrupting. “I apologize for the interruption of your most likely not romantic date, but we need to head at Geong-nam Ms. I’m not a tour guide, I’m a secretary but since I’m gonna tour a beautiful girl I’ll make an exception.”

I’m already in your office Ms. Kim, Wonyoung-ssi already went home 30 minutes ago —not that I’m counting— and I would appreciate it if you would drop that absolute nightmare of a nickname you made.”

Chaewon chuckles, shaking her head after hearing her secretary clicking her tongue. “You sure are brave, do I need to remind you I’m your president?”

I called you Ms. Kim for a reason, Ms. Kim.”

“Okay okay, you should just go down, then… I’ll be waiting for you in the car, bring the papers we need.” and before Nako can even complain, Chaewon hanged up. Nako’s last comment certainly helped appease the guilt she felt.

———

“I hate you.”

“I hate you, too.”

Nako groans before entering the car, making sure to send firm glares to Chaewon from the passenger seat through the mirror since Chaewon was sitting at the back. “Here are the files, Ms. Kim.” she says with gritted teeth, handling the files to Chaewon who was obviously trying to stop the chuckle bubbling in her throat.

“Best friends to workers, I quite am astounded by how fast you change demeanors.” their driver commented, also holding back a laugh as he drives the car.

“We aren’t best friends, I have a much better friends that this brat right here thank you very much.” Nako says, ignoring Chaewon’s dramatic gasp from the sit behind.

“Well, excuse you too, I also have better friends than you.”

The driver lets the two bicker, sometimes even throwing some side comments to make the fight longer. At one point he had to stop the car so he can stop Nako from strangling Chaewon who called her a whipped midget secretary.

What surprised him more though is when Chaewon suddenly asked about a business related topic after and the two girls immediately went to their working mode as if they weren’t dying to punch each other minutes ago.

“So this guy had been pocketing the investments some company gave and hadn’t been reporting to our main branch, thus resulting for their low ranking, it also had been suspended because he let minors drink?” Nako summarized, eyebrows furrowing.
