There was blood splattered on the floor. A million thoughts sped through his head. Ok, be calm. Let's look at the facts. Let's collect the data.

Aizawa conducted a quick investigation around the dormitories and came up with four points:
1. Dabi is not in his room.
2. There is blood on the floor.
3. No one has seen him.
4. Midoriya is on edge, but hasn't seen him- he thinks.

He was getting worried. What if someone had taken Dabi? Or what if he was hurt? Did he run away? Did Midoriya see something?

He was about to call Nezu to notify him of Dabi's absence when he glanced back in the dorm and saw,

"Dabi?"

He turned around to look at his teacher. Uh oh.

"Where were you?"

"The bathroom," he answered. This was not good. Aizawa definitely saw the blood. Uh-  Quickly think of an explanation. He was so focused, frantically trying to come up with an excuse that he almost didn't hear what Aizawa said next.

"Why is there blood on the floor and what's with the gloves?" His teacher narrowed his eyes at him.

Shoot! What's he gonna say? First, conceal all hints that he's lying. No habits and no signs like averting his eyes, increased rate of blinking, or wide-eyed expression. Without waiting too long, he answered.

"Bad nosebleed, it's the dry air. And the gloves, I found them, they seemed nice." Hopefully, that was a good answer.

Aizawa stared into Dabi's soul. Well- tried to. Why couldn't he tell what he was thinking? How is he supposed to tell if Dabi's lying or not? There weren't any telltales either; however, it's all still a bit suspicious.

Deciding that he would just have to take his word for it, Aizawa reluctantly began explaining to Dabi how refurbishing the dorm would work.

First, the door and window would be locked. Second, he would be in the room with Dabi. Third, Dabi would only be allowed out once the tools were safely back in his possession. Other than that, there wasn't really anything else. And my god- he better not be looking for any loopholes!

Dabi took the work gloves he was given and replaced the gloves he was currently wearing as he turned his back towards Aizawa while heading over to begin taking out the paint and brushes. Aizawa made sure to warn him of the consequences if he stepped out of line. As if he would- he wasn't that type of person, although he might poke fun at it.

He got straight to work starting with the blue paints, then he got into the white and purple paints. He paid special attention to shade, tone, and tint the colors where needed. Soon a majestic flame pattern covered the perimeter of the room.

With more of the black paint, he went back in around the pattern and on the ceiling, changing the softer mood of the flames against the white walls into something fiercer.

He finished off on the flames with the latest innovation of glow-in-the-dark paint. The paint was translucent and emitted a bright glow of the color underneath, not one of those faded glows you get with cheap glow-in-the-dark toys. All of this put together made the flames eerie looking but breathtakingly wild at the same time, especially when there's the absence of any other light.
