Madeleine Cookie felt overwhelmed by seeing him... again.
His glasses, or looks, hadn't changed... of course he'd stay the same. The only thing that changed for Espresso is the amount of coffee he drinks and his works.
His glare pierced through Madeleine's and Latte's dough like hundreds of miniature swords. He clearly didn't like the fact that two people were in his house.
"What on earth are you two doing here?" Snarled Espresso Cookie.
"We came to see if we could help, with the house and maybe your experiments?" Latte Cookie politely asked. "Right, Madeleine?"
Madeleine was far too busy looking at Espresso. His swirling hair with so many shades of brown looked like those illusions for your eyes. His piercing, snake-like eyes stared him down, despite him being shorter. His marvellous Jacket sprawling out like an overgrown tree. What a wonderful sight he was. And the bitter, yet so strong smell of his coffee drove Madeleine insane. To others, they would have passed out if they inhaled the coffee smell. But Madeleine's heart keep him conscious to keep on looking, until Latte broke his thoughts. "Earth to Madeleine? You've been staring out of the window for ages!"
"Waaa! Sorry. Lost in thought. But yes! We want to help." He said, still a little stunned from his abrupt shock.
"Easily being distracted is a rather incompetent skill if you want to help. Focus is key." Espresso said, not at all impressed by Madeleine's first impression.
"Don't fear! I'm very focused a lot of the time, it's just the coffee. The smell is far too strong! Tone it down." Madeleine said, attempting to cheer the miserable sod up.
Espresso, turning away, before turning back again, said "Fine, you can help, but just ONE screw-up, you don't get to help."
Latte cheered, and got to work organising the boxes. Madeleine Cookie stuck around, looking around at the Coffee Cookie's creations. So many tinkered machines, and it was only half past three. He tried to pick up what looked like a edited Coffee machine. "Don't touch, you half-baked idiot."
"If you mind, your Coffee flavour makes you look cooked, you definitely are the one in the room who's half-baked."
Espresso was taken aback, but alas didn't care. He was busy. He watched the two put his belongings into their respective places. Eventually, the house looked spick and span.
"Look! All neat and tidy. Don't go spilling Coffee over it!" Latte exclaimed, slightly exhausted but happy.
Espresso Cookie didn't take this as a joke, and huffed.
"Hey, Espresso, why don't you show us your inventions? They look really cool!" Said Madeleine, with a polite but cheeky grin spreading across his face.
Espresso immediately changed his mood to excitement.
"Of course! Allow me to show you my latest inventions!" He stumbled down the corridor, into the lab. The two followed his path. Espresso gently picked up what Madeleine tried to pick up earlier. "This," he said, hiccuping slightly from an overdose of coffee, "is the High-Powered Coff33 Machine! Upon using it, it was grind specially grown beans into fine, highly caffeinated powder, which you can make coffee with!" He pressed what looked like a G key from a keyboard.
The Machine began to grind. The noise was rather jarring and loud, but the coffee was finely cut, like he described. After the ear-exploding noise ended, he pressed a L Key from a keyboard. The machine glowed bright blue, and something happened on the inside, but they couldn't see. "And now! The moment you've been waiting for..." He pressed a D Key.
The Machine didn't do anything at first. Espresso gave it a few gentle taps, before a whirring noise began to happen. "Odd, I didn't have to tap it last time-"
BOOM! An explosion of ground-up coffee beans came out of the nozzle, which was supposed to dispose the Coffee. Madeleine, Latte, and some of the lab was coated in brown powder, while Espresso was against the wall from the blast. "B-but... my calculations..!" Espresso whined, as the pain from the blast set in. Latte picked up the Coff33 Machine.
"You forgot to add the water, Espresso."
Espresso stared blankly at the coffee-coated Latte and Madeleine. He felt like a fool, how could he forget such a simple ingredient?!
"...get out..."
Madeleine and Latte almost exited silently, but Madeleine yelled:
"Can I at least wash off the Coffee in your Shower?"
"NO!"
