One call to Klaus somehow led to us going out to a bar with Kol and Jeremy. It was eleven by the time we drove away from the house. Klaus had shown up just as Kol and Jeremy came downstairs and declared their intention to party. I had jumped straight to scolding Jeremy for underage drinking, but I couldn't really stick to that. Since becoming a vampire and Klaus introducing me to the wonders of how alcohol numbed blood lust, I tended to drink a lot more. My attempt to tell my brother off turned to Klaus suggesting we join them so that we could keep an eye on them.
Ten minutes later, I changed into a simple black dress and a pair of black heels and followed Klaus out the door. Jeremy and Kol jumped into the back seat of Klaus' SUV. Klaus drove the four of us to a bar that was two towns away. The bar itself was loud and busy, plenty of college students and bikers mixed in together. There were a few pool tables and a dancefloor where a DJ booth had been squashed in the corner.
The tight mix of bodies and the smell of their blood was loud in my ears. I hadn't really spent time in a place as full as the bar since I turned. I took a moment and focused on Klaus' scent. It seemed to help to focus on one person.
Klaus notice me tense and reached for my hand. He held it firmly and led me through the crowd to a booth. He allowed me to slide in before sitting beside me. His arm landed over my shoulders as Jeremy dropped in across from us. Kol disappeared, declaring he would get the first round.
"How did your brooding go?" Klaus asked.
I frowned at the term. "I don't brood."
He smirked.
"Why were you brooding?" asked Jeremy.
I huffed.
Klaus chuckled.
"I got into an argument with Bonnie."
"About me," Klaus added.
"Saw that coming," said Jeremy. "I didn't think you planned on telling anyone any time soon."
"It was an accident," said Klaus.
"I can talk, you know." I nudged his stomach.
"Sorry, love." He kissed the corner of my mouth as Kol arrived and placed three beers and a scotch down. He also had shots.
I grabbed a shot and drank it; the burn felt good. It would help to numb my sensors until I adjusted.
Klaus let out a small laugh. "You okay?"
I nodded. "It's just a lot."
"Your cravings?" asked Jeremy.
I offered him a reassuring smile. "I'll be fine." I had a strong belief that Klaus wouldn't let me hurt anyone.
"So, speaking of telling people. When were you two going to admit the truth?" Klaus said.
I frowned.
He was looking at Kol and Jeremy with his knowing smirk.
"What have I missed?" I asked.
Jeremy's cheeks went red. "When we were ready. But thanks for bringing it up in front of my sister, you asshole."
Klaus laughed, as did Kol.
"Jeremy?" I pushed.
Jeremy glanced at Kol. The youngest Original brother smiled at Jeremy with a familiar smile. It was the same look I had seen in Klaus' eyes. Instead of Kol saying anything, I was surprised when he cupped Jeremy's neck and kissed him. It wasn't the type of kiss a sister would probably ever want to witness, but it answered my question.
