"Aw, thank you so much. The house is beautiful. I love the decorations," Emerson tells the woman as she glances around. "Where's my dad?"
"Ah, he's currently napping but I'll let him know you are here," she says.
"No, no. I'll put my stuff away and we can start helping you prepare the food for tomorrow," Emerson says, not wanting to wake her father from his nap quite yet. "Amanda, this is... Doctor Strange."
"Hi! We've heard so much about you," Amanda says referring to herself and Emerson's father. "You are a real blessing for helping Emerson in her time of need. It has taken so much weight off of her father's shoulders," the woman tells Strange.
"All good things, I hope," Strange quips with a smile on his face. He bends over, untying his shoes before stepping forward with the suitcases in hand. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you."
"Oh, yeah, follow me. I'll show you to the room," Emerson mumbles as she wheels herself to what used to be her room Opening the door, she finds that nothing has been touched or moved. "We'll have to figure out the sleeping situation. I think we have a blow-up bed somewhere... I'd hate to-"
"We can worry about that later," he says before looking around the room at all of her belongings. She has photos displayed all over of her father and what seems to be her mother. There is a desk with a shelf hanging above it with trophies being displayed. Strange turns around to see what else is in the room. A pair of boxing gloves along with a pair of hand wraps hang from a coat hook behind the bedroom's door. He sees her Army Service uniform hanging in her closet with badges covering both sides of the chest. Emerson quickly shuts her closet door and tidies up the room. "Let's go help with the food."

"1964, 'Time Is On My Side' by The Rolling Stones," Stephen says aloud as the radio plays in the background. Amanda lets out an amused gasp as she prepares the turkey. Impressing people has always been something that boosts the Sorcerer Supreme's ego.
"How did you know that?" She beams. Emerson just rolls her eyes at the doctor who is showing off. At least Amanda approves of him.
"Don't start testing him... He'll keep going," the sergeant warns with a small grin on her face. Strange glances over at her while he's slicing potatoes. He looks the sergeant up and down, taking her appearance in and enjoying what he sees. The song finishes and switches before Amanda speaks up again.
"Really? Okay, what about this one?"
"Santana, Abraxas, 'Black Magic Woman'... 1970," Strange tells without hesitation. Emerson stares at the doctor, clearly impressed with his knowledge too. Amanda gives him a round of applause before footsteps are heard behind them all.
"Em," her father's voice rings.
"Dad!" Emerson beams as she turns her chair around to face him. Her smile shrinks as she sees her father using a walking cane to assist him. His body looks nearly shriveled up. His cheeks are sunken in and he looks like he hasn't eaten in days. Every step he takes forwards is slow and painful to watch. Emerson meets her father before standing out of her chair. His smile grows as he leans forward to give her a hug. His weak arms wrap around her shoulders and she can feel every bone as they poke and prod her. "I missed you," Emerson chokes out, trying not to cry.
"I missed you too, kid," her father whispers. His lungs rattle as he takes a deep breath in. "Look at you standing up. You weren't kidding!"
Emerson only profusely nods, knowing that tears would start streaming down her face if she spoke. The sergeant turns to Stephen, hoping the look on her face would queue him to interject. The doctor sees her eyes cloud up and her bottom lip quiver. Her eyes beg and plead for him to help her, something Stephen hasn't seen since she first stepped foot in Kamar Taj. Emerson is hurting too and it's painfully obvious. Strange places a gentle hand on her shoulder, his hand shaking ever so slightly as he steps forward to introduce himself.
