KEZIA TISDOR
**************
Camilla came out holding a parchment. A couple of Acaryas gave Kezia a weird look, but then, as if recognising who she was, they left. Or it could have to do with the fact that a princess was standing beside her.
"So?" Kia prodded. "What do you do for fun?"
Kezia frowned. "What do you mean?"
Fun was a word she knew when Vukan had been alive and when she was not involved in politics. But things changed and her fun was not the fun many would agree.
"What do you do in your free time?"
She bit her lips. She did have a lot of free time, but she did not confine to the norms. She could not tell this princess the truth.
"Well," she said. "My family is in Shorya. It's one of the two villages in the eastern Rath Forest. And it is just a couple of hours of walk. So, I visit them. Whenever I could."
Kia's eyes widened. "Why not take the portal?"
Kezia blinked her eyes at her. "Well... I am a human... so, I can't use it?"
She face-palmed. "I am so sorry. I forgot." She then took a token from her pocket. "This is my token. You can use it to portal back to your home."
It was not just the gesture that made her freeze. But rather the bright smile she had on her face. Like she believed that Kezia would not cheat her. Would not use this token for something else. This token held power. Told people that Princess Kiarae Saryn was protecting Kezia and to harm her would be to challenge the princess.
Kezia shook her head. Why would she need a portal? Given her status?
But Kia was insistent. "Take it. Use it when you need."
Camilla came towards them and shoved the schedule in her hand. "Take what Kia is giving you. Else, you will not live to see another day."
With an uncertain heart, she took the token and pocketed it. "Happy?"
Kia nodded. "So... who's in your family? How are they?"
They turned to leave. "My father and my elder brother passed away a couple of years ago. It's just me, my elder sister, younger brother and my mother."
Though her face fell for a moment, she grinned. "You know? In a weird way, we both are so same."
That made Kezia pause. "How?"
"I have an elder brother, an elder sister and a younger brother. So, we are the middle daughter," she laughed.
Camilla shook her head. "Trust you to find weird connections, Kia."
