After having initially been worried about battling Bug Types, Kyra wasn't finding it as bad as she initially anticipated. She wasn't confident to say the least, but she was much more relaxed than she would normally be. It allowed her to think clearly, something that she hadn't been able to do around Bug Types before.

To take advantage of Bug Types being weak to Flying Types, Kyra sent in Gliscor whilst Aaron sent out his Heracross. A Fighting and Bug Type, the best possible opponent for Gliscor.

"Alright Gliscor, start off with Earthquake," Kyra said, not wanting to let Aaron land a close range attack right from the start.

Gliscor hit her tail into the ground and sent the powerful Earthquake towards Heracross. She was confident that the attack would hit and deal plenty of damage, knowing there wasn't much Heracross would be able to do.

"Heracross, fly up then use Close Combat!" Aaron called at the last second.

Heracross followed his trainer's call and flew up mere milliseconds before the Earthquake hit him, allowing him to avoid the powerful attack and prepare for using Close Combat.

"Fight back with Aerial Ace, don't let Close Combat hit you," Kyra said, knowing that Close Combat would deal a lot of damage despite the resistance.

Gliscor flew up too, speeding past Heracross and landing an Aerial Ace. She stopped herself to turn and look at where Heracross was, surprised to see Heracross had landed safely on the battle field despite having been hit by Aerial Ace.

"You still good to go Heracross?" Aaron asked. Heracross nodded, the Aerial Ace had hit hard, but he wasn't ready to give up yet. "Good, then use Stone Edge."

Jagged stones shot up from the field as Heracross punched it, limiting the amount of movement Gliscor had to work with should she fly any lower.

Kyra could see Gliscor's concern, she knew that Gliscor struggled flying when there were too many obstacles around. If Gliscor couldn't fly down, they'd have to wait for Heracross to come up, but she doubted that Aaron would make a call for that to happen.

As Kyra wracked her brains to try and think of a solution, she saw Heracross readying himself to use Close Combat once more. Then it clicked. Gliscor didn't need to fly around to attack, she still could still use Night Slash and X-Scissor.

"Gliscor, I want you to use Stone Edge to your advantage. Jump between the Stones, keep your eye on Heracross then you won't have to fly through the obstacles," Kyra explained, putting her trust in her plan and in Gliscor.

Gliscor nodded and did as her trainer asked, keeping her eye on Heracross as she jumped between the Stones.

"Not bad, I wasn't expecting that kind of  a call. There's only so much you can do though, Heracross is much more used to this battle style than Gliscor. Heracross, use Megahorn," Aarom praised, once again making a call straight after.

Heracross, similarly to what Gliscor was doing, jumped between the Stones and quickly reached Gliscor's height. His horn was extended and glowing, Megahorn was no doubt a powerful move.

"Block it with X-Scissor," Kyra replied, hoping that Gliscor would be able to hold Heracross off for long enough.

Gliscor wrapped her tail around the Stone she had gripped onto and formed an X-Scissor at her claws.

The two attacks collided, neither pokémon willing to give up. There was no telling which attack was stronger, the two moves causing a stalemate. Both pokémon had the opportunity to lash out with another attack from where they were, but that would require sacrificing power in their current move, not something either pokémon wanted to do.
