EPILOGUE: THE DREAMER
WILL LIVE ON▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
CHANG SOO-JIN HAD a signature walk, feline and graceful. Her stride measured, one stiletto placed delicately in front of the other, like a prowling tigress stalking prey.
Entering the building, she tossed her curled hair aside and reached out to pull down her pencil skirt. She still hadn't gotten used to wearing expensive clothing, but her legal team and advisors told her to do so.
Immediately after her grandfather passed away, all of his assets were transferred to her, making her the current Chairwoman of the Il-Nam's enterprise. She was contacted by their family lawyer, and asked if she was ready to handle everything that was left to her.
Not wasting any time and resources, they gave every evidence they gathered and let the island where the games being held be raided by the police. The Front Man and the game managers were about to start another set of deadly games that time, but fortunately, they were able to stop it.
Treading behind her was her husband, her bestfriend, her sister, and Jun-Ho. After four long months, the Korean National Police and National Intelligence Service finally tracked down where Hwang In-Ho and his men were. They were arrested just the day before. Soo-Jin was nervous about Jun-Ho since of course, In-Ho was his brother, but he was steadfast in his beliefs.
"The law is the law." said Jun-Ho when she approached him.
The woman had also met the rest of her family members and turns out, the reason why she was named the heir of their family was because they didn't want to take over the games. They wanted to stop it, but never had the guts to stand up against Il-Nam. Her uncle and two aunts raised their own companies, cutting their ties with their family as they were disgusted by Il Nam's twisted ways.
Soo-Jin took this as mere excuses, yet she just understood them. What mattered to her now was that the nightmare was over and those who died will finally get their justice. Their families will have the funeral they deserve and they will be all given some money to restart their lives.
Acceptance, the final stage of grief.
Accepting the reality that she was going to always know she killed someone and recognizing that this new reality is the permanent reality was difficult. She never liked this reality, but eventually she had to accept it. It is the new norm with which she must learn to live in.
"Ya!" screeched someone at their right and Soo-Jin inclined her head to see a fuming Minjun -- Jeong-Gwon marching towards them. "You're really going to do this, huh?"
Sang-Woo and their bodyguards blocked him from reaching Soo-Jin and pushed him away. "Get away from her." snarled her husband. "You have no right to go near her."
