Venice

The car ride was quiet the only sounds were the sounds of the engine and the blowing wind from my open window, I tried to steady my heart rate by taking slow breaths, but it wasn't working, I couldn't tell if my heart was racing because I was nervous or scared.

We both didn't speak the whole car ride I caught... what's his name again? I don't know his name yet, so I'll settle for my closest guess, cucumber. I catch cucumber's side-eyeing me every once in a while.

The awkward silence was starting to kill me but luckily, he pulled into a parking space causing me to refocus on my surroundings, we stopped at a pizza place that I'd never heard of, lights were surrounding the building making the place light up it was beautiful.

I opened the door and stepped out of the car admiring how pretty the building was, my face lit up in a smile as I looked through the hidden glass window to see more lights hung up.

"Beautiful," I say softly as I stare at the building, it is truly the most beautiful place I've ever seen, I've lived in this city for roughly a year now and I've never even heard about this place.

"Thank you." I hear from beside me, I crane my neck to look up at the voice, my eyebrows crease as I stare at him staring at the very building I was admiring.

"Huh?" I ask, wondering why he was thanking me for calling the building beautiful as if I was calling him beautiful.

Not that he isn't beautiful, he is very beautiful.

"I own it." He shrugs and starts walking towards the building my eyes bulge as I process what he's telling me, I follow behind him and walk into the restaurant.

"You own this whole building?" I ask while my eyes train the inside, it is even more beautiful than the outside, with lights everywhere I've always loved lights since I was little.

He shrugged and nodded before going over to the lady at the front desk walking directly behind him, the lady was looking down at something under the desk I assumed it was her phone, cucumber was glaring daggers into her head before she finally looked up. "Shit, sorry boss I was just-"

He cut her off. "Distracted on the job?" He said his face visibly angry his eyebrows creased as he waited for an answer which never came the lady was too scared to speak. "Get me a seat, Now!"

She scrambled to get up, I felt bad for the girl her boss is an asshole if I owned a restaurant I would treat all my employees like they were my children, but not cucumber I guess.

We followed her to an empty book, cucumber slid in on one side and I moved to the seat across from him, I smiled at the lady. "Thank you." I smiled and she nodded walking off.

I watched as he picked up the menu and started reading through it, I silently glared at him through the menu, sensing my gaze he lowered the menu raising a sharp brow at me.
