Chapter 2: Beating Asta

                                    

                                          
Yuno had heard the news about Golden Dawn High going against Black Bulls High. No way they can win. This is Golden Dawn High, a school for the elite. The Black Bulls students are always a mess and do more bad than good. We're going to win this.
                          
"Hey, Yuno? Aren't you excited? This will be fun!" Mimosa giggled. Mimosa Vermillion, who comes from a rich family. She is cousins with Noelle Silva of Black Bulls High. Noelle would've liked to join Golden Dawn High, but wasn't accepted since even though she's rich, her scores were the type of scores to take Golden Dawn High from their high reputation. She was only accepted in Black Bulls High, however, since all the other schools in Clover Country wanted to keep a higher reputation than the School of Misfits, our nickname for Black Bulls High. Mimosa is a new student at Golden Dawn High, as well as Yuno Grinberryall. Yuno was accepted more due to his intelligence, than his family's wealth. His intelligence is what made him pass the entrance exam. Principal Vangeance approved of him immediately after he took it.
                          
"All of my intentions are on beating Asta." Yuno said. Asta has been his childhood friend. They grew up together since their parents were really good friends. Asta's family is poor, so Yuno's family tries to help out. Yuno's family is rich, but no matter how much they offer to Asta's family, they keep only taking a little fracture of what they offer, calling it too much. They're struggling, honestly. But Yuno and Asta are usually in competition, and Yuno is certain that he will be better than Asta since he was the only one of the two accepted into the elite Golden Dawn High. He's also pretty dumb. It was a wonder that Asta was accepted into one of the nine highest ranking schools and not shipped to some lowly boarding school. But he did get accepted into the lowest of the nine schools.
                          
"Oh? Then maybe we'll beat him and his school during the competition. I just can't wait for--" Mimosa began but then was interrupted by another voice.
                          
"Mimosa! Don't speak about the competition so casually. We'll need to take it seriously." A boy walked in.
                          
Mimosa giggled. "Oh, but it's fine, Klaus. We're meant to have fun."
                          
Klaus Lunettes. A higher ranking student than Yuno, and a junior, unlike Yuno, who is a freshman. He's rather the smart type. He hasn't accepted Yuno, always calling him an amateur. "What are you two even doing here? Aren't you supposed to leave for your next class? My class is going to be in here next."
                          
"Who said?" Yuno questioned.
                          
"Stop acting like a child. You have your schedule with you." They both glared at each other and then Mimosa threw in an attempt to calm them down.
                          
"Hey... uh..." She grabbed Yuno's arm. "Lets go, Yuno. We don't want to cause trouble."
                          
"What? You want me to run away from smarty four-eyes over here?!" Yuno said.
                          
"Hey. I'm older than you by two years. Show some respect." Klaus requested.
                          
"Two years my brain--" Yuno argued.
                          
"Everyone-- settle down! What's going on in here...?" Said a female voice coming from the room entrance. "Yuno? Mimosa? Aren't you two supposed to head for your class? We have a class in here."
                          
"Thank you, Letoile. Just what they needed to know." Klaus said.
                          
Letoile Becquerel. She's in Klaus's grade. She had her eyes focused on Yuno and Mimosa, and Mimosa sighed. "Come on, Yuno. Let's go to English class."
                          
"Fine," Yuno gave one last rude glance at Klaus and followed her. After they left the classroom, then Mimosa turned to Yuno.
                          
"You need to learn to be kinder to others." She said.
                          
"Kinder? Why? I only care about my own dreams. Other people don't need to matter to me."
                          
"And... that's your problem. You've already gained the full respect of the principal, but you need to gain respect from the rest of the school as well. If you don't, then you may have trouble cooperating. The competition is coming soon, and if you don't learn to work with others, then there's no way we'll win."
                          
"I think we'll win perfectly if we're all to ourselves, thank you very much." He muttered the last phrase sarcastically.
                          
"No... you got the wrong idea. Arguing with juniors even though they are older than you won't make you better than them. It'll just add to your age gaps."
                          
"I already know what I'll do, and how I'll do it. Now, like you said earlier, let's head to English." Yuno walked away down the hall. Mimosa watched him, sighed, and then followed. He'll learn sooner or later.
