The year of familiar tragedy.

"I AM TRULY SURPRISED," Commander Pixis chuckled as he took another glance at Kira. "I never thought I'd get to meet you in person. To be honest, I was joking when I asked for your attendance," Kira stood a few steps behind Erwin as the men began to walk. "So, it's true? That you don't speak?" Kira gave the man a curt nod when he looked over his shoulder. Though, her answer wasn't exactly true anymore. "Interesting."

In the four days that it had been since Kira had yelled, Moblit had told her it was best she wait to use her voice again until the bleeding stopped. She could still feel and taste the iron liquid as it coated the inside of her throat. Though, now, it wasn't enough to spit out. Much to the annoyance of Levi, Kira had been making remedies of tea that Moblit had gone to the market and retrieved the ingredients for, so the usual tea was running out slightly faster than usual. However, the short Captain didn't seem as irritated as he conveyed when he fixed her a cup as she played another round of chess against Erwin before lights out.

"Commander Pixis," Erwin greeted. "Don't you suppose that some might not approve of the Garrison Commander meeting privately with the Commander of the Survey Corps?"

"Ah, you're as stiff-necked as they say," Pixis replied. "Don't worry. I simply happened to run into you during my morning walk, and we are merely engaging in small talk as I enjoy my walk. After all, this is the first meeting between me and the wall's most mysterious soldier." Kira watched the older man's shoulders shake as she assumed he'd laughed quietly again.

"Are you aware the Military Police now want Eren Yeager, too?" Pixis asked. His voice was less cordial now that he spoke of why the Commanders originally needed to speak.

"Yes, I received a message yesterday." Erwin responded respectfully. "A military tribunal will take place." Pixis hummed in acknowledgment.

"Zackly has been authorized to decide whether the Survey Corps or the Military Police get him." The Higher Commander affirmed.

"Zackly," Erwin repeated. "Commander-in-Chief, Darius Zackly?"

"The man who controls all three military forces: the Military Police, the Garrison, and the Survey Corps," Pixis confirmed. "His decisions are based only on one criterion: whether it's good or bad for humanity. If he thinks Eren is a threat, he'll order Eren's execution without a second thought. Right on the spot," By now, all three had stopped walking as Pixis relayed the much needed information. "I don't want to let Eren die. But sadly, many among the Garrison fear him. All I can do is refuse to cast my lot with the Military Police." Erwin's head raised slightly at his superior's implied support.
