The train to Veilstone City took about an hour, not only was the train they were on a stopper train, but there was also a slight delay due to a speed restriction. As Kyra and Victoria talked away, Kyra began regretting her decision to say she was ready to go back to her journey. She has missed Victoria so much whilst travelling, she didnt want to go through it again.
"Having second thoughts? What's on your mind?" Victoria asked, noticing Kyra looking out of the window in an attempt to seem distracted.
Kyra nodded but kept eye contact away, she didn't want Victoria to see her emotional side yet again.
"I'm not going to be around forever you know, it's natural you'd miss me whilst you travel. Then again, it's important you find things out for yourself and find happiness besides my company. You love journeying, don't let me stop you," Victoria explained, guessing the source of Kyra's stress.
Kyra finally looked away from the window, walking over to Victoria to cuddle up to her. "I know that, it's just I really miss you whenever I'm not with you. I feel bad for you being alone, Sonia's busy in Galar, and I'm busy on my journey."
"I have Lopunny and Delcatty remember, not to mention Nate and Willow's parents are good friends of mine too. You need to stop worrying about me so much, it's nice to know you care, but I'm fine, honestly," Victoria reminded, calming Kyra down again.
Kyra stayed close in the hug, she knew that the train was nearing Veilstone and she wanted as much hugging time as possible. Victoria was happy as long as Kyra was, as much as she was putting on a brave face, she was just as upset at Kyra heading back to her journey.
The mall was a good distraction from Kyra and Victoria's emotions. Lucario and Glaceon knew that Kyra wanted a new bag, so they went to find one whilst Kyra helped Victoria get what she needed, grabbing a couple of things for herself to stock up whilst she was there.
Kyra was insistent on paying for her shopping rather than letting Victoria pay for it all, but Victoria was much more stubborn and ended up paying whilst Kyra was trying to reason with her.
"You know that if I'm with you then I'll most likely end up paying for you, stop trying to out-stubborn me, it'll never work," Victoria said jokingly as they went to find Lucario and Glaceon.
Kyra tried to stay annoyed, but she couldn't stay that way for long. "I don't want to waste your money though," she replied.
"Kyra, shush. Money isn't a concern, I have more than enough," Victoria said, stopping Kyra from worrying unnecessarily.
Eventually Kyra managed to persuade Victoria to let her buy the bag herself, the bag she had been using thus far was becoming impractical. A shoulder bag had been a smart decision at first since she wasn't expecting to be carrying so much as she was, but that had started becoming an issue as she needed more healing items and other items for her pokémon's benefit. Lucario had suggested a backpack which she would carry for the most part, Kyra had at first been against it, but since Lucario was determined to help her trainer as much as possible, Kyra agreed they'd share the load.
Glaceon ran over when she saw Kyra and Victoria, leading them both over to Lucario who had picked out the bag she liked the best. The bag was a similar colour to that of Kyra's favourite scarf, but that wasn't the only pulling factor for Kyra to buy it.
Lucario walked over and showed Kyra the bag, "There's a holder thing here, it should be able to fit your Staff in, that way you won't have to get it out from your bag any time yo...we want to use it."
Kyra was impressed with Lucario's choice, it was perfect. The bag was large enough to hold all that she needed, plus it was comfortable to carry which was an added bonus. It was much cheaper than she would have expected too, much to her pleasant surprise.
