"Have we met before?" she asked suddenly as the fairly handsome figure looked familiar. She has a doubt if they met before leaving this country.
"Ah. I don't think we met before. By the way, I am Wang Yibo." He introduced himself to make his point clear. He hasn't seen this lady before. But she might have seen him on the television or in some business related magazines of China.
"But strangely I've a feeling about it, that I've met you before." Xiao Qing voiced out her thoughts as her mind went digging around in her past memories. As the words make their existence, Wang Yibo forces his dead brain cells to work.
"Ahh, now that I remember, your daughter said she saw me on her daddy's phone. Maybe on the business news? Does he keep a track of businesses here?" he suggests the eventuality.
"I never saw him watching news on business. But since she said she saw you, it might be something business related. He might be going through the news regarding Jiangs and all, and might have stumbled upon something else. He does that. It's his habit to watch every suggested news/catchy article when he has leisure time." The lady explained. Unknown to her that her husband never stumbled on the news, for he always willingly searched for anything related to Wang Yibo when he used to have free time. And the child would simply stare at the screen.
"Anyway, it's pleasant to meet you Mr Wang." The lady said getting up on her feet. They have to check-in too. Also, she has to give her real introduction to Jiangs. After all, she is the legal wife of their adopted son. And her husband still considers Jiangs as his second family. They didn't plan to hide it from them, but did plan to hide it from the media for they don't want unnecessary attention shifted on their daughter.
"Little Bunny, have a nice day." He said as he lifted the child on his lap to place her on the floor so that she could walk towards her mother.
"Don't worry, I will pay for this." the lady said, but before Wang Yibo could respond, she realised she forgot her bag at the headquarters of Jiang's Corporation. She was in such a hurry to see her daughter that she left everything behind as she wanted to check on her daughter's safety first. She doesn't believe in Jiang's words, she doesn't believe anything other than her eyes. Two years ago, she failed to protect him on the same streets of Beijing. Today she didn't want to lose her daughter at the same place.
"It's paid. When you came, I asked my secretary to clear the bill and wait for me in the car." Wang Yibo said, wiping his hands clean with tissues placed in the tissue holder.
"Oh," the lady bowed in gratitude before lifting her child in her arms to leave the place. If given a chance, she wouldn't mind paying for this gratitude. "If fate permits, we shall meet again." She said before turning around to amble at her destination.
Behind her, Wang Yibo received a text message on his phone.
His gaze shifted from his screen to the fading figure of the lady, scrutinising the reason behind the order. Who was she, for JC to take this step? What's her real identity?
Sliding past the thoughts, he ran behind her. It's not the right time to think about this. He has to save that child.
The said lady with her child in arms stepped on the street to cross the road. She was about to step ahead looking at the pedestrian crossing sign on the signal board when someone yanked her back fiercely.
She was about to curse but a fast moving car which passed swiftly at a distance of one step from them threw her in the pit of confusion. She just got saved from a brutal accident. She heaved a sigh as she realised that she and her child were safe. The incident of two years ago didn't repeat itself today. They got saved, and the person who saved them must be.. as the thought caught her attention, her heart started beating loudly at the thought of leaning on someone's broad chest. The person who yanked her back didn't stumble back when they crashed on him. This shows the person has great strength. As she inhaled in relief, a cold but calming fragrance infiltrated her nose. It was comforting in its own way. For a moment she wanted to bask in this.
