The Blind Jackal in the media:
Eri's POV:

"Nadia please slow down, m-my head hurts" I held onto her tightly.

There were three vampires that were hot on our tail and it didn't look like we could escape any of them.

I was finding it difficult to keep my eyes open and see what's going on.

Nadia was trying her absolute best to shake them off but it was all in vain.

I was beginning to panic!

Images of me being dragged back to the castle filled my head.

I didn't want to go back; I would rather die than come face to face with Prince Xander again.

How he smiled when I suffered.

Since day one, he made my life a living nightmare.

No one should go through the horrors I went through in a single day.

And the worse part was that he made sure not to kill me no matter how much I wished to die.

I had managed to escape that hell hole and I didn't have any intention on going back there again.

"Eri? How're you holding up?" Nadia asked slightly looking over her shoulder.

"please save us" I tightened my grip around her waist and glued my body on hers.

We had been trying to escape them for so long that we both knew that this chase had to end soon but how?

"hey Eri?" she said suddenly gaining my attention again.

"just remember that I love you and don't ever forget me"

"Nadia what're you thinking?" my voice was shaking.

I know my sister was capable of crazy things and they were unpredictable so now that she's speaking like this, it won't end well.

Then, Nadia jumped off the horse and I instinctively took charge.

Why?

Why would she jump like that?

She sacrificed herself when it wasn't necessary.

There must have been a way for both of us to escape.

"one is down...grab her!" two of them headed towards her while the third was still tailing me.

I couldn't look straight, my mind began to travel and I asked myself why this was happening and why she jumped off.

She fought with all she could but they tied her arms and legs.

Out of nowhere, something powerful hit me in the gut and I fell off my horse, head first.

The immense pain made me scream louder than I ever had before.

I help my stomach and groaned all over the floor.

It was a low but strong branch and it hurt like hell.

"another one down" my pursuer bent over to touch me when his body landed beside me.

I could barely see what was happening because my vision became blurry and I was swallowed up by the darkness...

Lyra's POV:

Please let them be ok.

Please let them be ok.

I don't know who I was pleading to but I was pleading.

I ran as fast as I could; leaving my horse behind.

Everything just became a blur to me...what was I thinking about splitting up!

We've made it this far without having any troubles, why do I have to hear a scream now?

The warriors I had met earlier had gone ahead of me through the trees to see what was happening ahead.

I honestly hated this dress for making me move this slow.

I kept on running till I felt my chest was going to burst.

When I had finally gotten to the source of the scream, fear washed over me and I froze.

Eri was on the ground as well as her pursuer but Nadia was nowhere to be found.

I felt like my eyes were playing a cruel joke on me.

It was much after fighting with my legs, I managed to will them to move and I was beside her in seconds.

"Eri? Eri please be ok" tears flowed down freely from my face.

I had already lost Nadia; I wasn't going to lose her too.

"she's not dead...just unconscious" someone said from behind me and my head shot up.

I then remembered I was surrounded by those warriors again.

The one that just spoke to me was blind in some sort of way but that was the very least of my problems.

The blind girl had Sam tied up behind his back.

They spoke in a language that I had never heard of before and it bothered me.

"what proof do you have that will convince us you're not spies from the other kingdoms or criminals"

There was no way possible to tell them about our situation because they wouldn't believe us no matter what.

"if you want to escape them, you have to show them the necklace your me-maw gave you"

"what does that have to do with this?" I asked silently.

"all in due time...you'll find out soon enough"

I sighed and pulled out the necklace and showed this to them.

"I was asked to bring this...I-I don't know why but please...don't kill us" they all looked surprised to see me with the necklace.

The warriors talked amongst themselves for a while before turning back to us.

"we shall take all three of you to the Lost City of Noie" the blind girl said.

"thank you...c-could I please know your name?"

"I'm known as The Blind Jackal" her answer was short.

She doesn't seem social though we've just established that we aren't enemies.

"are you really blind?" Sam asked.

"did you get this far to find help or not!" she snapped and it was silent.

"follow us. We shall take you to Noie" one of her comrades untied Sam and they found and brought our horses as well as theirs.

"we should get going...if we want to get there by tomorrow morning" the jackal said as she mounted her horse.

I mounted mine and they placed Eri in my arms.

Sam huffed and mounted his and we followed the warriors to their home...

Finally, the lost city has been found.
