Realizing that I wasn't talking, Dylan screamed into the phone. 
                          
"Maddison!" Dylan yelled. 
                          
"Yes, I'm here," I said. "Who are they? Have you called them?"
                          
"Not yet. I'm coming to pick you and Marvin now."
                          
"Wait, now? I have one more class," I said as I entered class. No one was there so I could still talk. 
                          
"But I need you now, please," Dylan pleaded. "Please, Maddie. I know school is really important to you, but just this."
                          
I sighed into the phone. I couldn't leave now and lose a perfect attendance. Call me crazy, I need this for college. I don't want me application having a missed day of school. 
                          
"Class ends at 3:30. You can come at 3:00. Is that okay?" 
                          
"Yes, that's perfect. Thank you, Maddie," Dylan said and hung up. I sighed and walked over to Mrs. Turner. 
                          
"Hello Mrs. Turner," I said. She looked up from her book and smiled. 
                          
"Maddie! What's up?" 
                          
"I was wondering if I could leave class early. Like at 3:00?" 
                          
"That's okay. We have an assignment though. You will have to learn what makes your partner happy then do a presentation," Mrs. Turner explained as she looked at her book. 
                          
"Are we having the same partners?" I asked. 
                          
"That's up to you," she smiled. "I wanted to pair you with Lucien, but I think he will do good with Alex. If you want to switch partners for this assignment, that's fine."
                          
"Okay, thank you." I looked down at my watch. 2:30pm. I had thirty here. People were beginning to fill the room and Bruce flopped into the seat next to me. 
                          
"Hey," he smiled. 
                          
"Hi," I smiled back. This is crazy; Bruce's my best friend. Then why was I being like this? I may not know why he's hanging out with Penny but I know he wouldn't do it to hurt me. 
                          
Mrs. Turner introduced the class to another relationship, relationships with our parents. I leaned against the table and tried to stay focused. I had already gone through this lesson at home, so it seemed pointless doing it again. Bruce bumped his knee against mine and I looked at him. His hand held a paper and I took it. I opened it and read it contents. 
                          
Are you ignoring me? 
                          
I looked at him but he was looking straight at the board. Was he serious? We were literally at the back of the class and seated next to each other. I shook my head, trying to hold back a laugh, but still wrote back. 
                          
No. Just had some things to take care of. 
                          
I sled back to him. He read it and wrote back. 
                          
Okay. Wanna go to the park later?
                          
Can't. Dylan is picking Marvin and I. He said he found his birth certificate and knows who he's family is. I wrote back. 
                          
Bruce looked at me with a surprised and disappointment expression on his face. I nodded and wrote back. 
                          
Pass by my place later. I'll text you when I'm home. He nodded and faced the board again. When Mrs. Turner was telling us the assignment, someone spoke through the speakers. 
                          
"Maddison Knight and Marvin Knight, please report to the front desk." 
                          
Moment of truth! I got up from my seat and waved and everyone. Once I was out of the room, I walked straight to the entrance. Marvin was already there with Dylan.
