Maddie's POV

"I think this is my favorite place already," Lucien smiled at the basketball court. It was one of my favorite places to be. After the library. I walked to the bleachers as Lucien dropped his bag and raced for the balls. He swiftly dribbled the ball and scored a three pointer. He smiled at himself and ran for the ball.

"You play?" I asked.

"Kind of. I was on the team in my previous school," he shrugged and scored another three pointers. Every time he scored, he would smile and do a little celebration to himself. His hair swayed with him as he ran, jumped, and swiftly moved.

Wait, why am I thinking these?

I found myself staring at his every movement. He caught me staring and I looked down at my skirt. Why am I doing this?

"Want to join me?" He asked.

"Sure," I walked down to the court and grabbed the ball.

"You play?"

"I know a little," I said not wanting to brag. I tried to score a three pointer, but the ball ended on the other side of the hop.

"Like this." Lucien stood behind me and placed his soft hands over mine. I could feel the warmth of his body and he positioned me to how to move. We launched the ball and it entered the hop perfectly.

"Now it decides to enter," I shook my head and chased after the ball.

"So, you do play?" Lucien said and I could hear him smirk.

"Kind of," I said and remembered he answered me like that. "My Dad used to play with me."

I threw the ball at him and we played for a few minutes. After what felt like hours, which were only five minutes, we sat back down on the bleachers.

"Why don't you try out for the team? You're really good," Lucien complimented.

"Thanks, but I'll stick to roasting my friends," I smiled. "I don't think it's me kind of style."

"Then, what is? What's your style?" Lucien asked. "I want to get to know you."

I smiled and looked at the court. I told him basic stuff; my favorite color, favorite animal. I was the kind of person who would prefer to be asked than to answer a general question. When we noticed that, he narrowed down to questions.

"This feels like twenty questions," I pointed out.

"This is not one of those romance movies where they play Twenty Questions and they make out after the game. I'm just trying to get to know a girl who seems pretty interesting," Lucien chuckled.

I smiled and looked down at my nude painted nails. Today, Mum decided to dictate my closet. I ended up walking out of the house in a white shirt and a maroon skirt and black tights with my hair tired into a messy bun. Luckily, I could pick my shoes. When I slipped on  my black boots, Mum said I was spoiling the outfit. I was beginning to regret why I didn't pack extra clothes. If Bruce would look at me, I know he would say I look like a Disney princess.
