After weeks of learning lines and learning how to defend for troll kind due to the amulet, things started piling up between trollhunting and school. "Umm.what's my line again?" Luckily Josie decided after all to join the play and got Claire's understudy part, "Okay, let's take it from 'Wherefore art..'", I nodded as I was saying my lines. She looked weird at me. "What?", "You okay Jim? You're normally great at remembering things."

That was true but the troll hunting was on my mind more than the play. "Oh. Yeah, I'm fine. Totally fine.." I laughed nervously, "How are my fellow thespians doing.." Mom walked in, "Doing great!", "Liar.." she mumbled as I hit her side, "Shut up.." she rolled her eyes, "I'm getting water.." she stood up and left as it was just me and mom. "I know I've been a little missing out on the action but fill me..what has been going on?" I really wanted to tell her about the troll hunter thing but I swore not to tell anyone who is close to me. "Oh just the play..Josie is doing great as Claire understudy, she knows the lines like the back of her hand..",

"And so do you eventually..you're the more memory keeper in the two of you..she has the creative and you have the memories.." I smiled, "Thanks mom..", "No problem James.." We hugged as she came back. "So where were we?" We continued for a while and Toby called about a complaint as usual from a troll and I tried to make up an excuse and leave, Josie started acting weirder than her normal self. "Where are you off to?" She asked, "Tobes house..he really wants to play Go! Go! Sushi!, okay! Yeah! Alright I'll see you at play practice!" Before I walked through the front door, she stopped me again.

"Can I join?" The one question I always hate saying no to. But today was the day I had to say no since I never told her about the trolls. "It's just a boys thing..sorry Josie...maybe next time?" , "You say that every time.." I looked at her, "Not every time..", "Liar.." the only one lie she still doesn't know about hasn't been caught in the action. "How about we make sundaes like old times.." she looked at me as her eyes started to water up. "Dad used to say that to me before he left work and that one night he promised me that he left.." I totally forgot about that. I dialed Toby as he picked up. "Jimbo, where are you dude?!"

"Hanging out with Josie..Go! Go! Sushi can wait until after play practice.." Before I hung up, I heard him yell my name. "I'll talk more later, Tobes.." I hung up, "How about we sketch instead of doing a sundae.." She looked at me. "I'll even draw my famous stick figure.." she laughed, "Ok.." I smiled knowing she was happy somehow in some shape of form. Even though being the troll hunter comes first in that part of my life, being there for Josie beats out all the odds.
