Your pov.

You never knew how much you missed your house until you came home. The clothes on the floor in your room, the stain on your couch, the garbage in the kitchen.

Perfect.

You plopped on your bed, appreciating the smell of your covers. But a headache flared behind your eyes the second you made contact, and you had to take several deep breaths before it diminished.

You had to do that a lot.

Is that how it was going to be from now on? Every time you sat down, a massive migraine? Not being able to handle loud places? Light?

And from what? A stupid fall, that's what. How weak am I? You thought. I literally fell of a bike, and now I can't even sit properly.

You sighed, reaching up to touch your head and wincing.

It was Saturday, possibly the best day of the week. But you had to spend it in bed, resting, while every one else was socializing.

Your stomach growled loudly, like some sort of wild animal, snapping you from your thoughts.

You rolled off your bed, landing on the ground with a thump, wincing as it shook your head. You stood up and walked down stairs to find something to eat, ignoring the pain.

"Honey!" Your mom exclaimed when you walked into he kitchen. "You're awake! How are you feeling? Do you need any more medicine?"

You rolled your eyes, but even that simple motion caused small pain to flare behind your eyes.

"I'm fine, just hungry," You said, ignoring the sharp sting.

Your mom nodded. "Okay. We have some soup in the cabinet, or you can have a sandwich.

You crinkled your nose. The only soup you had in the kitchen was "Bean and Beef," and you didn't have any lunch meat.

"Uh, can I have some cereal?" You tried.

You mom nodded. "Sure. Just clean up after yourself."

You nodded and got out the milk and the "Frosted Flakes." You were just about to take a bite when the doorbell rang out.

You winced at it shattered around your head.

You got up, marching to the front door, and banged it open. "Hello," you said in an annoyed voice. You put up your hand to shield your eyes from the sun, wincing.

"Y/N?" A voice said.

You slowly lowered your hands to find Conner, smiling at you. Behind him was his mother, who was holding a basket of something.

"Oh, it's you. Hello." You asked, trying to remain cool, even though the sight of Conner sped up your heart rate to hyper speed.

Get a grip, you told yourself. Get over your crush.

Conner smiled a crooked grin. "We thought we would bring you some food."

You smiled. "Thanks, we have nothing in our house."

You opened the door all the way, motioning for them to come inside.

"Who is it?" Your mom called from the kitchen.

"My friend!" You called back. "The Baileys!"

You mom walked into the foyer and smiled a huge smile at the basket. She immediately started talking with Conner's mom like they had been long lost friends. You suspected they could talk for hours without realizing it.

You glanced at Conner and had to suppress giggles as he raised his eyebrows. "Wanna see my room?" You whispered.

He shrugged. "Sure."

You lead him upstairs into your room, carfuly sweeping some clothes under your bed before he could notice them. You cat, Bobo, was asleep on your pillow.

"How's your head?" Conner asked while looking around the room.

"Uh, I've felt better, I've felt worse. But I'll be fine," you said, so he didn't worry. You also didn't feel like admitting the sudden headaches you got, how you respond bad to light, how noise haunts you.

He frowned, obviously seeing through your act.

You gave him a fake smile, and said, to change the subject, "What about you? How have you been?"

He sat on your bed with a sigh. "Fine, I guess. I just..."

"What?" You asked when he didn't finish.

He sighed again, not meeting your eyes. "I just feel like it's my fault. I don't know. But you seemed fine, and then we were alone, and then.." He trailed off.

You stared at him, then sat next to him on the bed, feeling a little surprised and dazed. You took his hand, which was freezing, and held it between yours.

"Conner, are you stupid? You didn't cause my episode. How could you have! You're being irrational! It probably would've happened either way, so don't blame yourself."

Conner stared at your hands entangled with his. His eyes seemed to change color, flashing the spectrum before settling back into the soft blue they normally were.

"At the hospital, before you passed out again," he said quietly.

"Yes?" You asked, hope forming in you.

Hope? Hope for what?

"And we....kissed," he said the last part quieter, like he was afraid of it.

"Yes?" You repeated, and you knew you sounded like a movie stuck on "replay".

He took a moment to respond, as if choosing his words. "I mean, what was that? Was it a spur of the moment thing? Or...more?"

You almost laughed. Almost. It was just....weird. Why did all of the sudden he want to talk about that? And why then, of all times?

Little did you know that Conner had just gotten done with a very interesting conversation with Alex via mirror. That was definitely not something he wanted to go through again, especially when his mom walked in during it and heard some things.

Finally, you said, "Do you want it to be more?"

Conner's face went bright red. "No! I mean, uh, maybe? I don't know!" He looked like he wanted to crawl under a rock.

You knew your face was just as red.

Conner recovered fast, though his face was still crimson. He said quietly, while fiddling with his hands, "Well, figuratively speaking, if I, like, asked you to, um, hang out, but in a more-than-friend-way, uh, what would you say?"

This time, you did laugh. "Uh, duh! I'd say yes!"

Conner looked very relieved.

You felt very good, especially when he gave you an adorable smile.

Conner stood, wiping his hands on his shirt before meeting your eyes. "So, do you want to hang out?"

You smiled. "In a more-than-friend-way?"

Conner shrugged. "Only if you're up to it."

You smiled a wicked smile. "Oh, I'm up for anything."
