It's freezing...

I pulled my hood further up and fixed my leather gloves and face mask.

I walked down the street quietly and kept my head down.

I don't wanna call to much attention to myself.

Cause I definitely don't look like a thief already...

"Stop."

I paused and looked at the car next to me.

It was a black car. The windows were darkly tinted so I can't see in.

But I can feel their eyes.

I'm being watched from in.

Probably by two.

Was this a set up?

Perhaps they're just normal people I'm freaking out by staring into their car.

"Duck."

I covered my head and dropped.

BANG!

The man landed on the hood of the car, spinning around to look at me.

"Alice or Miller?"

"Who?"

"Nevermind, you probably aren't high enough to know."

He glared and lunged at me.

How annoying.

Miller probably told Alice I was here and she sent them to stop me.

I grabbed his face and slammed it into the car.

He tried to stab me but I grabbed his wrist.

"Will you stop it?"

"FUCK YOU!" He tried to grab me but I twisted the knife out of his grip and stabbed his other hand into the car window.

I covered his mouth as he tried to scream and sighed.

This is pathetic.

BANG!

I blinked and turned to see a woman with a gun. I looked down at the floor and saw the crushed bullet.

My hoodie has a hole in it now...thank God it's not my favorite.

"You're probably from NightShade too, huh? Levi is to smart to send people after me."

They're not much of talkers...

She began shooting at me and I used my backpack to shield my head.

I wasn't worried about my body, my suit is under my clothes.

"You are from NightShade, right? By the way, where's your suit? It's kinda stupid of you to come after me with no protection. Does she not care for her people?"

"Fuck you!"

"Was Levi with you?"

He looked confused.

"Leviathan. You know, Death Essences leader, boring, pain in my ass, always grumpy?"

Blood splashed across my face as he ripped the blade out of his hand.

"Thank you, stand here please."

I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him next to me.

He jerked as bullets filled his body.

Poor thing.

I dropped him and threw my backpack at the shooter in the tree.

There was a yelp and I watched him fall to the floor.

They're not wearing any gear either...

Did she want them to fit in or something?

Strange, I'll ask when I get there.

Sorry, mister!

I turned and blocked the punch from the girl who had been with the dead man.

"Were they your friend?" I asked backing up. "You seem pretty upset."

She screamed and kept trying to hit me.

Poor thing.

I dropped the little lad and flipped, wrapped my legs around her neck and arm, flipping us both over.

It started to rain again.

How fun.

(My phone just let me know that today two years ago I publish the first book. How fun!)
