They were both surprised to hear an Ed Sheeran song when they stepped into the bar on Thursday. Niall was usually never the first one to arrive. 
                          
Harry had spent the night at Louis's and they had an amazing day together yesterday. They were definitely dating and Harry couldn't be more excited. 
"Hi, Nialler!" Louis greeted. 
                          
"Hi, guys." Niall replied. 
                          
The door opened and Liam and Zayn entered. They were both glowing. 
"I'll swing by later. Bye guys!" Zayn said and gave Liam a quick kiss before he left. 
                          
Liam joined them with a big smile on display. 
"Look at you! That seems to go well." Niall smiled. 
                          
"Yeah." Liam agreed. 
                          
"We should go on a double date!" Harry suggested. 
                          
"Uhm... Yeah." Liam didn't sound convinced. 
                          
"Lou?" Harry asked. 
                          
"Isn't it a bit weird? I mean, you and Zayn..." Louis trailed off. 
                          
"Are just friends. Why are you two so hung up on the fact that we 'dated' in high school?" Harry questioned and made quotation marks in the air. 
                          
"Yeah, okay. Fine, we can go on a double date." Liam agreed. 
                          
"Sure." Louis said. 
                          
"Great! Where are we going?" Niall suddenly asked.
                          
They looked over at their Irish lad. 
"Oh, you wanna join us? Of course. Yeah. Eh, well, we're working the weekend so lunch date?" Harry suggested. 
                          
"Awesome!" Niall smiled. 
                          
Louis, Harry, and Liam exchanged a look. They wouldn't want to exclude him. Niall was great. It must be an odd situation for him where all his friends were dating each other and he was the one left out. They didn't want that. 
"You can pick the restaurant." Louis offered.
                          
"Nando's?" Niall immediately suggested. 
                          
"Uhm, maybe something with a little more atmosphere?" Harry said.  
                          
"Alright, alright, I got it. I'll think of something cozy, don't worry." Niall said and went to the kitchen to collect glasses. 
                          
"So...double date plus Niall?" Louis smirked. 
                          
"Look how excited he was. He's so cute." Harry cooed. 
                          
"Yeah. It'll be fun." Liam smiled. 
                          
They got the pub ready for karaoke night. It was a big turnout as usual.  Zayn showed up just before closing and the customers cheered. He got up on stage and sang a song, ending the karaoke. When the pub was cleared of customers Liam started to talk about the double date plus Niall.
"Sound great. I'm in." Zayn smiled. 
                          
Niall clapped his hands in excitement. 
"I'll take care of the reservations. One o'clock?" 
                          
They all agreed on the time. As soon as they had put away the dirty dishes they turned the lights off and locked the door. 
"Wanna go to my place?" Harry asked Louis quietly. 
                          
"Yeah." Louis smiled. 
                          
Since they drove to work together Harry drove them back to his place. They went straight to bed but spent an hour making out and cuddling before they caved in and fell asleep. 
                          
They took a shower together the next morning. Harry lend Louis some clothes and made them breakfast. It was the safest option even if Louis was really cute trying. They just hung out and talked, shared a few kisses before they headed out. Niall had sent a text with the name of the restaurant, a small Italian place close to work. 
                          
They were the last ones to arrive. Niall, Zayn and Liam were already seated when they joined in. Niall was sitting on the edge of the table so they sat down next to each other. They opened the menus. 
"So what are we having?" Niall asked while he was going through the dishes on the menu. 
                          
Louis chuckled lightly.
"We have to order the same thing?" 
                          
Niall looked up.
"What? Of course not. We can order different things." 
                          
The waiter came and took their orders. While they waited for their food Niall lead the conversation, asking them questions. It was like he was on a date with all of them. 
"So, Niall. You're not dating anyone?" Zayn interrupted when Niall was asking about their favorite flower. 
                          
"Sadly no." Niall smiled. 
                          
"What's your type?" Zayn asked. 
                          
"I don't know if I have a specific type. Someone I can laugh with, you know, have fun with. I'm attracted to a good sense of humor, a nice smile, and a natural look." Niall answered. 
                          
"And are we talking girls here?" Zayn wondered. 
                          
"Yes. Only girls." Niall chuckled. 
                          
"Would you consider a blind date?" Zayn questioned. 
                          
"Yeah, why not?" Niall agreed easily. 
                          
"Great. There's a girl that works with me that I think would be perfect for you. Can I give her your number?" Zayn asked. 
                          
"Absolutely." Niall beamed.
                          
Their food arrived. Liam leaned in to whisper in Zayn's ear. 
"Smooth." 
                          
"He needs someone and he's great. Anyone would be lucky to have him." Zayn mumbled back. 
                          
The food was delicious and they had a good time. Afterward, Zayn had to go back to the studio, and the rest of them went to a coffee shop and sat down. They just hung out until it was time to get to work. 
                          
They were halfway through cleaning the bar when Niall received a text. 
                          
Hi, my name is Kate. Zayn gave me your number. Are you free next weekend?
                          
He read it out loud.
"What should I do?"
                          
"Reply dufus! Ask her out for dinner or something." Louis smiled. 
                          
"Isn't that lame?" Niall said.
                          
"It's a blind date. Dinner is the perfect way of getting to know someone and it's not too long. If it's awful you at least got fed and then you can go home." Louis replied. 
                          
"Oh, is that why you asked me out on that 'this is a friendly dinner not date' thing?" Harry chuckled. 
                          
"Yep." Louis smirked. 
                          
Harry giggled in amusement. Niall concentrated on composing a text. 
"How about this?" 
                          
Hi Kate,
I have the weekend off. How about dinner on Saturday?

"Perfect." Liam assured him and Niall pressed send. 
                          
He got a reply within seconds. 
                          
Dinner sounds great. Time and place? /Kate
                          
"Where should I take her?" Niall stressed. 
                          
"How about the restaurant Louis took me? It was romantic and the food was great." Harry smiled. 
                          
"You took him to a romantic restaurant for a friendly meal?" Niall questioned. 
                          
"I didn't know that it was a romantic restaurant and it turned out great. No regrets." Louis smiled and told Niall the name of the restaurant. 
                          
Niall called and made a reservation. Luckily they had a table for him at seven on Saturday.
"Should I offer to pick her up?"
                          
"I think you both want your escape car if the date is a bust. Just tell her the time and place." 
                          
Niall sent the text and smiled brightly.
