"How much is the blue with silver details?" Ruby asked the lady selling fabrics as ruby pointed to the blue silky fabric. She had a few other cuts laying over her arm. She enjoyed sewing, infact it's what she did most her days. She would hide up in her room making dresses for her and her dolls.

"Ten." The lady replied as she hung up a few silk dresses.

Ruby bit her lips as she dug through her pocket, luckily she had just enough. She laid ten gold coins onto the counter. "I'll take a roll of that as well." Ruby smiled.

The lady smiled at her before getting down a roll of the fabric and pushing it across the counter, gathering up the coins. "Thanks dear, have a nice day." The lady said.

Ruby picked up the fabric roll before nodding softly, but as she started out a button caught her eye, it was in the shape of a heart. But the color is what caught her eye, because well.. It mimicked the color of her eyes. "This button? How much is it?" Ruby asked.

The lady looked over from the dressed at the button ruby was holding. "You can keep that one dear, it's just a plain old button."

Ruby nodded before picking up the 'plain old' button, walking out as she looked it over. "It doesn't look plain." She said softly as she walked down the stone path from the fabric shop.

"It's just like my eyes, it's pretty." She told herself before dropping the button Into her pocket.

Ruby smiled softly, her brand new rider boots thumped against the stone walk way. Her hair blew in the spring winds, eyes a vibrant red with orange swirls. She had felt better today than she had in awhile. She hadn't though about the .. Well, you know.

She hummed along to the tune of her mother lullaby that she seemed to always remember. The sun caught glimpse of something just beneath the collar of her red dress that created a small glimmer of light; the locket.

The birds chirped in their near by trees as the branches swayed along with the green leaves. The bottom of rubys dress swayed in the warm breeze. The air smelt sweet, like new blooming flowers. And the sun peeked from the clouds just enough to create a warm blanket.

"Hey furnace," ruby heard someone shout. Her head then dropped to look down at the ground. That's what people who were mean tended to call her, because she burnt things.

She just kept walking, not wanting to get into it with anyone. Besides a whole bunch more guards than normal were at ever post. Ruby blinked slowly. What might be the reason for all the extra guards?

"I said hey furnace!" The girl with fried blonde hair said, stopping in front of ruby causing her to stop in a halt so she wouldn't touch her.

"What do you want Linda?" Ruby muttered, hugging her fabrics tight.

"Where's your little excuse for a brother? He took my little sisters money and I want it back." The blonde girl snorted, looking at ruby with glaring pale eyes.

"I.. I dunno." Ruby grumbled, angry that she had called her brother an excuse. Ruby's eyes twitched a little.

"You getting mad little furnace?" The girl snickered. "Did I make the poor thing mad?" The girl said, puffing out her bottom lip. "Boo hoo flame herder."

"Stop calling me names!" Ruby shouted, taking a threatening step forward which was replied by the girl stepping forward, now only a touch away.

"What are you going to do about it? Smelt me up like you did that poor boy?" The girl snorted, blowing hot air in Ruby's face before slapping the fabric to knock it out of her hands.

Ruby grit her teeth a little, hands fisting by her sides. She wanted to punch the girl but knew he couldn't. "Please leave me alone." Ruby said, bending down to pick up her fabrics.

"Why? So you can run a hide like you've done for the past couple years." The other girl snorted. "You know, hiding won't hide the fact you killed those people." The girl huffed.

"Your dangerous, a person like you shouldn't even be allowed to live. One day your going to kill someone that means something to you, then you will wished you did what was best for everyone else and ended it." The girl with fried blonde hair said, teeth gritting. "You killed my little brothers, both of them, and my mother."

Ruby froze, her words stung deep down. And not the kind of sting you would expect from a wasp, much, much worse.

"They.. Are the ones who touched me." Ruby said, though she knew that maybe the girl was right.. Maybe she should just end it all. A cursed fire elf was bad news for every one.

"You.. How dare you try to make excuses for killing my family!" The girl shouted, lunging at ruby.

But before ruby could react or pull away the blonde had her hands wrapped around rubys neck, squeezing hard.

Ruby gasped for air, flames slowly crawling up her skin and latching onto the blondes skin before the flames started tearing into the blonde girls flesh.

As ruby gasped for air she watched the blonde do the same, the frightened blue eyes of the girl staring back down at the terrified ones of rubys.

The girls grasp loosened and ruby quickly managed to pull away. "Help! Help!" She shouted.

And the second she did guards were there with buckets of water to poor on the burning girl. Once the fire was put out the guards lifted up a bearly living and no where near recognizable girl with burnt and ashes hair.

Rubys eyes widened, gripping her fabrics before suddenly making a run for it, running a quickly as her feet could carry her. It had happened again, she had killed again. She had to get back home, and quick.

She would go up in her room and never come out, yes that would solve it. She couldn't harm anyone if she locked herself away from every one else.
