Chapter 28 Getting What She Deserves

Asher POV 
We were driving around the neighborhood, trying to find our little 5 year old.
Reagan: "Where do you think she could be?"
Asher: "I may be wrong, but I think she took her somewhere. She believes that is a "good hiding spot" to try and hide her"
We then reached the driveway of her house. Once we got out of the car, we heard yelling and screaming from the basement
Asher: "she's here" *holds Reagan's hand* "Let's go."
Reagan: *nods head and says with a bit of fear* "ok"
I opened the door and ran inside, all while holding her hand, we went down to the basement and saw her standing above the small child
Asher: "Let her go!" *says angrily* 
Reagan let's go of my hand and quickly runs over to the phone that's placed against the wall and dialed the police
Annie: "No, she should be mine, not hers," *holds the small child tightly* "she doesn't deserve her - or you"
Asher: "I don't care what you think - she's my wife." *rolls eyes* "Besides, she's better than you could ever be!" *says angrily* 
Minutes Later, the police arrived and came running down the stairs in a mixer of fear and anger 
The Police: "You! Step away from the child. "
She then quickly ran upstairs and down the hall, the police weren't far behind, Lily quickly ran towards Reagan, and jumped into her arms while silently sobbing

Reagan POV
Annie was in jail, or I've heard, she deserves to be, for making our lives a living hell for the past 5 years, At least I could go to sleep knowing that she's behind bars and can't hurt us anymore. Today, me and I decided to go on a date, we dropped Lily off at his parents' house and said our goodbyes. Minutes later, we were driving, Asher put the radio and turned up the songs at full blast, and we were laughing and smiling with glee as we drove off into the horizon.
Oh, and Caroline and Asher's younger brother Avi actually ended up getting together. They got married and had a couple of kids. Jonathan and Ava, Lily sometimes goes over to plays with them, she says they're her favorite cousins *laughs internally* they're her only cousins, but she still loves them regardless.
