"I'm sure everything will be fine, Owen. You know how they are...they're our parents and parents are you know, weird."

An irritated sigh came from the other line.

"No, you don't understand, They'-Shit...I think someone's coming..."

"Owen, you'll be fine, if shit hits the fan, you're more than welcome to visit me, I got your back buddy."

"Yeah, yeah, the perfect little angel you are...I got to go. I'll keep you updated."

And he hung up.

Jamie, a boy who didn't continue college cause he has no idea what major he wanted to be in, so he decided to work instead, who also has the support of his parents. What a perfect family. He sighed and wiped his hands on a small kitchen towel as he finished unpacking everything.

He just moved out from his parents' mansion, yes, mansion. Their filthy rich, but Jamie wanted to experiment something new. At first his parents were weirded out, but Jamie convinced them that it's just a "phase" and he'll come back as soon as he gets bored or something. His father even got him a job as a joke, and told em if he can work there for a whole 3 month then they'll pay for all his college fees, whatever major he wanted.

Jamie accepted the challenge.

He grabbed his phone off the counter and checked the email of his job, Jamie didn't know what his father put him up as, so this should be fun. Not really.

He got an email from his father,

Hey son, You'll be working at the Invia cemetery. Starting tonight at 11pm till 7am as a security guard. If you get fired, then you lose the challenge. Good luck son.

Jamie blinked a couple of times and reread the email.

"You're fucking kidding with me, right?" Jamie asked out loud. Glancing at his phone there was more to the email.

p.s
Invia in English means Pathless. It's Latin!

Jamie facepalmed and sighed. "Of course...I think they're not taking me seriously..."

He was a bit tired from moving, since he already got the apartment arrange a couple of days ago before he fully moved out, grabbing a few boxes and bags that contained all his stuff.

Checking the time it read 5 pm.

'In that case I'll nap for an hour, or something then take a shower...and maybe search up the place.'

Jamie then walked to the living room, flopped on his soft big couch, and closed his eyes, feeling exhausted and slowly drifting to sleep. He smiled a little, remembering his little brother Owen, asking him how he could fall asleep on the spot like that.

Knock Knock Knock

The sound of knocking (obviously) echoed through the quiet apartment, making Jamie groan and push himself up with his eyes still closed. Soft mumbling can be heard behind the front door.

He heard a female's voice, she sounded annoyed.

"maybe their asleep!"

Another voice replied, "Who sleeps at 6 in the afternoon?" the same voice replied, "Don't answer that,"

Jamie was already in the front door and unlocked it without thinking.

"Hello, how can I help you?" Jamie's voice was a little groggy since he just woke up from a nap.

"Oh, my apologies, I wasn't aware that you were asleep..."
"told you so..."

Jamie blinked his sleep away and stared at a man and a girl, the man gently elbowed the girl.
